Matthew Yglesias: Aren't Trump's summits with Rosenstein like the Lynch/Clinton tarmac meeting?

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has been meeting with President Trump often enough to set off some connection in Matthew Yglesias’ brain. Aren’t Trump’s fairly frequent summits with Rosenstein questionable, at least if you consider that curious meeting between Bill Clinton and sitting Attorney General Loretta Lynch on the tarmac at an Arizona airport while his wife was under investigation “wrong”?

Heck, Bill Clinton is still offended by the suggestion that anything untoward was discussed:

Rosenstein works for Trump. It's a boss-underling meeting.

Bill Clinton was not only not in government then, but married to someone under criminal investigation by the DOJ.

I usually agree with you, Matthew. But here's the difference:
Clinton was not the sitting president when he met with Lynch and his wife was under investigation..

Uh @realDonaldTrump is the President, while @BillClinton was out of office, and his wife @HillaryClinton was being investigated.

this might be difficult to follow, but @realDonaldTrump is the President and Rosenstein is Deputy AG. Bill Clinton was NOT President, but was instead campaigning for his wife. Let me know if you get all that
