WAIT: So Obama DIDN'T learn about all his scandals by watching the news?

It’s no secret to anyone who follows President Trump on Twitter that he’s a Fox News watcher; check out this tweet from Saturday in which he tagged @FoxNews:

Wow, “FBI lawyer James Baker reassigned,” according to @FoxNews.

The funny thing is, that tweet inspired New York Times reporter Julie Bosman to recall a recent speech by Barack Obama in which he claimed he never watched cable news — it was all old news to him by the time the cable channels had gotten to it.

If you didn’t click the video, you should: it’s an amazing supercut by the Washington Free Beacon of just some of the times Obama himself or Jay Carney explained that the president learned about things like Fast and Furious, IRS targeting of conservatives, and the VA scandal through news reports, just like the rest of us.

Obama claimed to learn about scandals from the news media so often that it became a running Twitter joke that Jon Stewart riffed on.

But NYT reporters now take his claims that it never happened, that he always knew stuff in advance, at face-value.

Post-Truth era indeed.
