Ohio Gov. John Kasich enjoys talking about music, and for some reason today, the eighth-place GOP finisher was asked by CNN’s Alisyn Camerota about his favorite concert of all time. That concert was Pink Floyd performing “The Wall” in Pittsburgh, and with little to lose, Kasich decided to make one more empty campaign progress to sweeten the deal for voters.

Technically speaking, he’d try once and for all to reunite Pink Floyd for a couple of songs. “Try” is about the best he could do, considering two of the three surviving members have no interest whatsoever in working together ever again.

What do you get by supporting Bernie Sanders? Bernie Sanders performing with Vampire Weekend.

          I fully support this.

Heh. There isn’t enough money in the world to get Don Felder to stand in the same room with Don Henley.

You know what Elvis would be doing if he was alive today?
Scratching and clawing at the inside of his coffin lid.

    Pink Floyd for president !!

    • Please, god help us!

If Elvis was “The King”, then why was he buried in his back yard like a common pet hamster?

      • Donald-Irredeemable deplorable

Well, it was a BELOVED pet hamster, that’s why it wasn’t just tossed in the trash.

  • Carolyn#OYSD

Now, I’m not positive, but I think this country has problems that are a BIT bigger than a band not being together. And if that’s what you’re running on, then dude, you’ve got your priorities severely outta whack.

  • Paula_Alquist

Another reason for me not to vote for him.

  • The Masked Avatar

    Comfortably Dumb.

    • Penny✓ItsSoFluffy! #GoBolts!

      Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!

C’mon, Josie and the Pussycats, all the way. Sure they both had red heads as the bands leaders, but Josie was WAY, WAY hotter than Archie, Betty or Veronica. Mmmmm… female Ginger’s… **SWOON**

      • MoxieLouise1

How about Henry Gross? That way he’d only have to bring back one guy who had one song.

      • moodydon

        Hmmm… Edison Lighthouse…

    • Conservative4Ever

The band I want to see back together with the son of John Bonham….The greatest rock band ever…. Led Zeppelin.

    • moodydon

Can we assume that some people have questioned your taste in music?

  • ArmchairMike

It is a shame that a simple mistake of John signing up in the wrong primary will cost him a chance at the presidency.

Only if they leave noted anti-Semite and terrorist supporter Roger Waters out of it.

      My first thought, as well.

    “Shine on you CRAZY diamond…”

Yeah, like Roger Waters would ever play a benefit for anyone to the right of Crazy Uncle Bernie.

If Kasich wants MY vote, he needs to get ALL the ORIGINAL members of Spinal Tap to reunite for a concert.

You idiotic boomer and post-boomer politicians are ruining rock music with your imbecilic references to it. It’s not “cool”, and it’s not even marginally attractive. Stop, please!

  • san rafael blue

John Kasich…How comfortable are you with Roger Water’s Anti-Semite tirades and his support for BDS (Boycott Israel products, Divestment and Sanctions?) Everyone in England has heard his rants. Roger is one of Pink Floyd’s founding members. Just axing a question.

    Syd Barrett said yes.

The greatest rock n roll band of all time! John Bonham’s son is great on drums and would tour with then whenever Plant gets the corn cob out of his arse. Plant is the only hold out. I saw Jason Bonham with Heart a couple years ago. Heart played many Zeppelin songs. It was awesome.

      • Jim Sweet

I dunno if Plant can even do that banshee wail anymore. Without that…meh.

While we’re in the neighborhood, I pledge my vote to whichever candidate promises to bring back actual Saturday morning cartoons. On all major networks. Yes, that includes the crappy ones that started at 5:30 before you were usually awake.

    My endorsement is just waiting.

But only the old ones, the ones with violence. Wile E. Coyote, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn…

With all this talk about global warming/cooling whatever, would Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons need to change their name to Frankie Valli and the Climate Changes?

  • GetRealNY

Kasich willing to overlook Water’s quite active “Let’s Annihilate Israel” campaign? Kasich is dead to me. In fact he can east sh#t and die ASAP.

  • rosetta_stoned

There is no chance Pink Floyd is getting back together. None.

For one, Richard Wright is dead. And two? David Gilmour cannot stand Roger Waters.

    • Cärlös Dängër ✓certifiable

As I recall, Waters has always been the guy that didn’t want to be involved. He’s certainly the most joyless out of the lot.

  • Finrod Felagund

Unless he has some magical plan to bring Richard Wright back to life, this is just inanity.

  • PiranhaBros

Getting Richard Wright onstage would be some kind of feat….

    • Arkuy The Great

Gotta include Syd Barrett as well.

      • Cärlös Dängër ✓certifiable

Well, at least you could get the same lineup that was present on “The Final Cut”, which is my very least favorite Floyd album.

    • Cärlös Dängër ✓certifiable

Dinsdale! Good to see you again.

  • deepdiver

Just when I thought my opinion of Kasich couldn’t get lower …

  • Arkuy The Great

IIRC the last time there was a Floyd reunion David Gilmour commented that playing alongside Roger Waters was like “kissing my ex”. Kasich had better be one heckuva charmer if he hopes to pull this off.

  • Deplorable Member Berry

Bah! No dice until you reunite Jud Jud to perform their “No tolerance for instruments” album live.

  • Jerry Shelton

I like Pink Floyd. It would be awesome. But the late David Bowie has this nailed already…”ground control to major”….. (john)

  • rjschwarz

Sort of asking the boys in the band to crap on his politics since I doubt any of them agree. Really dumb for a politician.

  • Oilfart1

Sure, bring an anti-Semite to play music as a presidential statement.

  • Mark is sooooo deplorable

Only if they paint Hillary’s face on the inflatable pig.

  • http://www.glornt.com Alfredo ✓ᴰᵉᵖˡᵒʳᵃᵇˡᵉ

Well, that does make a difference. I’m voting for Kasich for president… of MTV.

But really, at this point isn’t Pink Floyd basically David Gilmour, anyway?

  • wharfrat

What a dope!!,we have a nation that is being torn apart by Obama and the Democrats and Kasich is talking about reuniting a British band!!?,the Pink Floyd band members can’t get along so it’s up to them to reunite not a loser who brags about what a great Governor he is and is running at the bottom of the heap.

  • USNbubblehead

OK, first of all, Roger Waters DID get back together with the other members for “Live 8” at Hyde Park in 2005, so its already been done. Furthermore, Rick Wright has passed away, so its quite impossible for the classic lineup to ever occupy the stage together again. And still further, Waters has stated that its highly unlikely that he’ll ever do it again.

And then there’s the “what the heck does that have to do with anything” factor.

Yeah, I think its time ‘ole Kasich packed it in.
