As the House debated a border bill Friday morning, Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez said it was as if the GOP “despise all of our children.” After the House passed the GOP plan 223-189 late Friday, Gutierrez went on a bit of a Twitter rant, decrying a bill that was passed “in the dark of night.”
As @HouseGOP votes to end #DACA, @RepGutierrez says only cowards scapegoat children late on Friday night

In the dark of night Republicans are voting to deport DREAMers, take away the DACA program, and make every undocumented immigrant deportable

In January you were saying that all of the DREAMers should get green cards and citizenship.
— Luis V. Gutierrez (@RepGutierrez) August 2, 2014
But now, late on a Friday night you are going after the DREAMers who have known no other country than this one.

Is there no one in @HouseGOP who can stand up & talk sensibly when others in party want 2 demonize children at the border & deport DREAMers?
— Luis V. Gutierrez (@RepGutierrez) August 2, 2014
Only cowards scapegoat children and only those who are ashamed of themselves do it after hours on a Friday night.
— Luis V. Gutierrez (@RepGutierrez) August 2, 2014
In the end, the Republican position on #immigration can be summed up as “deport ‘em all.”

We know he was worked up and all, but:
If I heard him correctly, Illinois Dem Luis Gutierrez is lamenting Republican immigration policies which "marginalize criminals."

Yes, you heard him correctly.
