According to the New York Times, JournoList founder and Wonkblog editor Ezra Klein is preparing to leave the Washington Post to start his own site. The Times reports that Klein “put forward a proposal with detailed revenue projections to build a new website dedicated to explanatory journalism on a wide range of topics beyond political policy,” but the Post’s publisher as well as its owner (Amazon founder Jeff Bezos) declined to fund it.

Unable to sell "explanatory journalism" to the masses, Ezra Klein moves laterally to consulting, advises politicians to be more political.
