Senate humor. Sen Lindsey Graham tweets congrats on Sen McCain's visit to Syria. Calls "dibs on his office" if McCain "doesnt make it back."
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) May 27, 2013
CBS News’ Mark Knoller probably knows more about the nuances of “Senate humor” than we do, and Sen. John McCain will probably take his colleague Lindsey Graham’s tweet in good fun. Still, with McCain visiting rebel leaders today in the very dangerous country of Syria, not everyone was in a laughing mood. Too soon?
Retraction in 3,2,1.. “@GrahamBlog: Best wishes to @SenJohnMcCain in Syria today. If he doesn't make it back calling dibs on his office.”

Update: Though Graham’s joke didn’t fly with the majority of Twitter followers, Knoller’s giving him the benefit of the doubt.
.@markknoller does this really pass as humor when referencing a frmr POW? Ugh. Sad day when Trump engages in more respectful discourse.
