It’s not that Geraldo Rivera doesn’t believe that the administration’s cover up of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, is a scandal. Rather, he’s insisting that the scandal begins and ends there, despite reports from whistleblowers that help was available during the seven hours that the U.S. consulate was under siege that day. Benghazi was “a long time ago,” but it looks like this might be the week we finally hear firsthand from those who lived through it.
Fox News host Eric Bolling gave Rivera the opportunity earlier today to get up to speed with the latest developments, but instead the Fox contributor decided to double down.
Recall @GeraldoRivera and my heated debate #Benghazi in Nov?… http://t.co/X0y6gCAan2
— Eric Bolling (@ericbolling) May 6, 2013
@ericbolling Eric is a dear friend & colleague but admit it mate the USA had No military assets that could have saved our people in Benghazi
— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) May 6, 2013
@GeraldoRivera
The bigger story is the fact that it was covered up lied about, that it was not terrorism before the election.— Doris Cooper (@coopdd) May 6, 2013
@coopdd youre 100% right Doris-spread the word It wasn't the non-response that night-It was the coverup of terrorism that's the Real Scandal
— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) May 7, 2013
Really? Remember when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified that requests for additional security in Benghazi never reached her desk? That’s not scandalous?
@GeraldoRivera @coopdd NO – why no adequate security provided before and why did we leave these people to die during the attack?
— Katie Scarlet (@Katiescarlet2) May 7, 2013
@GeraldoRivera @coopdd Come on, Geraldo! BOTH of these issues are scandalous if there were ANY assets that could've aided our 4 lost!
— Michael G. Mickey (@MichaelGMickey) May 7, 2013
What did Bette Midler say? Read a paper?
.@GeraldoRivera @ericbolling Geraldo, there reportedly were military assets in the region that could've altered the course of #Benghazi.
— Michael G. Mickey (@MichaelGMickey) May 7, 2013
@GeraldoRivera And technically it's backwards.
— Cassie Leatham (@ccleatham) May 7, 2013
.@GeraldoRivera You are right, it should be people died, then Obama lied.
— Ray, Cancer Survivor (@USSGOBLiN) May 7, 2013
@GeraldoRivera << you absolute fool wake the fuck up! This was a coverup from the beginning @ericbolling is totally right. #truth
— David (@David_J_R) May 7, 2013
.@GeraldoRivera remember when you said this re: #Benghazi? Do you owe @DarrellIssa, me, #tcot, and USA an apology? pic.twitter.com/N4XfetfgmH
— ☠☠BossHoggUSMC☠☠ (@BossHoggUSMC) May 7, 2013
@ericbolling Assets from Tripoli did arrive to evacuate our survivors. To pretend others could have altered the outcome is cruel and untrue
— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) May 7, 2013
@ericbolling Stop w the rhetoric brother. The 1st wave from Tripoli arrived. They evacuated survivors. 2d wave would not save 1 more life
— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) May 7, 2013
The real Benghazi scandal is the post-attack political coverup (Amb Rice, etc) To focus on arm chair warrior fantasies is counter-productive
— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) May 7, 2013
@GeraldoRivera @ericbolling Gosh, Geraldo, I didn’t realize YOU were in Benghazi that night.
— Dana (@Grandbulldoggie) May 7, 2013
@Grandbulldoggie hi, unlike 99.9% of fantasy warriors I reported from the midst of actual combat in and around Benghazi Libya check the tape
— Geraldo Rivera (@GeraldoRivera) May 7, 2013
By all means, why even bother with the testimony of the people who were there? Geraldo’s got it covered. Why didn’t they have him testify last year and settle all this?
@GeraldoRivera The "first wave" you mention was the annex a mile away. Tripoli had air support and suggesting it was too late is #UNAMERICAN
— Eric Bolling (@ericbolling) May 7, 2013
@GeraldoRivera @ericbolling Gosh, maybe we should cancel the hearings and just ask Geraldo
— Mikexxxx (@Mikexxxx1) May 7, 2013
@GeraldoRivera "Arm chair warriors?" Do you mean like Obama & Hillary Clinton?

Indeed, check out Sharyl Attkisson’s reporting on Benghazi. Someone’s been paying attention the whole time.
@GeraldoRivera The real Benghazi scandal is the fact that the media wasn't interested in asking questions. I thought you guys were cynical.
