Not that we’re complaining, mind you, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has been taking a beating from both sides of the ideological spectrum lately. Reid, who recently earned a “B” rating from the NRA, angered many when he said that Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s sweeping assault weapon ban would not be part of the Democratic gun bill to be sent to the Senate floor. Tonight, though, Reid is proclaiming that every idea that might curb gun violence — including an assault weapon ban — deserves a vote. Why not these?
@SenatorReid Every idea? Stronger use of capital punishment for murderers? Will you be proposing a vote on that? Extended concealed carry?

@SenatorReid How about declaring concealed carry permit license requirements unconstitutional? @sayuncleblog #Libertarian #TCOT #TLOT

@SenatorReid then give law abiding citizens free guns and ammunition…we give out free birth control, call it criminal control.

@SenatorReid Criminals wont be stopped by the proposed laws, why not try to catch current criminals b4 making new ones? #commonsense

@SenatorReid So, I guess that would include censoring hollywood and gaming industries run by 1%ers too. #hypocrite #moron #gop #dems #tcot

@SenatorReid Gun control isn't the issue, do something about mental illness

Someone tell KKOH radio that Reid wants every idea debated, not shouted down with personal attacks.

It wouldn’t be a Harry Reid tweet if it didn’t manage to blame Republicans somehow. Fortunately, Reid picked up the slack in a follow-up post.
There's no reason for blatant GOP obstruction except fear of considering anti-violence proposals in public view
