[Editor’s note: See our correction below. Cooper asked if darkness would be a problem for police officials. He did not ask if a black man would be harder to find at night. For the sake of transparency, the original post remains below.]
Is it too late to call the trophy shop, or have they already started engraving Chris Matthews’ name on the award for the most ridiculous question asked by the media tonight regarding the Christopher Dorner standoff? Matthews was unable to pin down exactly how many African-Americans, if any, live in Big Bear, but that didn’t stop CNN’s Anderson Cooper asking if Dorner will be harder to track at night.
Did Anderson Cooper really just ask if it was harder to find a black guy at night? Really? REALLY?

There's no way Anderson Cooper asked "if it would be harder to find a black man at night.” I need video proof. No way.

Why yes Anderson. Negro skin doubles as invisibility cloaks that make us completely see through at night. @andersoncooper

Anderson Cooper just contemplated, out loud on live television, whether it would be harder to find a black man at night. No joke necessary.

@andersoncooper We are quite difficult to see at night. Just as it is quite difficult to see any credibility within you. Cupcake.

Yeah I'm listening to about that time frame and so far I've only heard Anderson Cooper ask if darkness is a problem.

Yeah this whole Anderson Cooper thing is just a tendentious "interpretation" — he was asking if darkness hides a fugitive, that's all.
— Ursus, Director of Weather and Banana Programming (@AceofSpadesHQ) February 13, 2013
okay I listened from 8:24 to 8:37 and he didn't say it.

Anderson Cooper also responded on Twitter.
You are making that up. Despicable rt @TPG_4: "would it be harder to find a black person at night" SMFH @andersoncooper and his bigotry”
— Anderson Cooper (@andersoncooper) February 13, 2013
Umm.. Actually, no, I did not RT @KgiardenKaren: @andersoncooper You didn't really ask if it was harder to find a black man at night!!!!!
