Ed Diehl is a state representative for Oregon and he has had enough of Oregon Democrats pretending to ‘help’ people and the policies they put in place end up helping nobody.
A perfect example is Oregon legalized certain small amounts of ALL drugs and it has turned the city of Portland into a zombie land.It was supposed to ‘help’ the community but it has literally made Portland just about unlivable.
Well, Diehl says the Democrats are making those ‘helping’ policies again. He produced a Twitter thread that lays out EXACTLY what Democrats are doing in regards to detransitioners and it is a DOOZY. A detransitioner is a person who underwent certain treatments to become a different sex but realized it was not right for them and they are trying to go back to their original sex.

If you watch that clip it is a little boring, BUT it gives a lot of insight into how blinded the Left is by gender ideology.
With this bill, Medicaid and private insurance are mandated to cover treatments when your "gender identity" and sex don't align. But, if you believe you have made a mistake and want a procedure to align with your sex, coverage will not be mandated.

That is not a right-wing talking point. There is more than enough proof to show that some children have been HURT by what the Left calls gender-affirming care.
Oregon Democrats seem to think helping reverse those hurt by transition is not a good thing. Why would they think that? Don’t they say ‘If we can help only one child’ it will be worth it on all things like gun control, etc, but detransitioning is where they draw the line? Why would that be?

Those are facts. Many other countries are seeing the issues and changing course on gender transition too early.
We are not suggesting because one place does it the whole world should do it, but we are told by the Left how great those countries are for healthcare and other issues so why do they not want to follow the lead on this one particular issue? The answer is that they do not care about people, they care about their far Left lobby and that is it.
And the professionals know exactly how to determine if someone was "born in the wrong body", even in the case of children and adolescents.
SO HERE IS THE CRUX OF THE ISSUE: To detransition is to demonstrate that gender identity is not immutable.

By including detransition treatment coverage in the bill, the true believers would be acknowledging that detransition is real, that some children and young adults are being harmed, and that the professionals can be wrong. And that is something they simply cannot admit.

Diehl is right. There is no reason to not want to help a person detransition if you wanted to help them transition.

There is no reason other than to protect the ideology. If they admit some people want to go back to their original gender and that the transition can cause issues then the whole idea of proving a person is really born in the wrong body falls apart.
It’s unbelievable that insurance will cover breast implants for men, but not for women.
And obviously, if they don’t cover the detransition, but will cover transition. There’s something very wrong there.

There is no other reason to deny the help you offered them before. They are the same people the Left said were BRAVE and we should listen to them when they wanted to transition. It is obvious they want us to ignore them when they want to reverse it.

There you have it. The Left wants to say you are mean and hateful and they are the ones who ‘care’ about people, but in particular, they care about the LGBTQ+ community and you all need to sit down and shut up. We hope nobody listens and you all keep pointing out the hypocrisy!
