The Daily Beast had an article implying that Disney planning an LGBTQ+ conference is a move in direct defiance of Governor Ron DeSantis and people took to Twitter to educate them.
First of all, Disney has had PRIDE and other days for the LGBTQ+ community for years and it has never been an issue.
Second of all, DeSantis’s issue with Disney was not that they were LGBTQ+ friendly, his issue was they wanted to play politics and try to sway an election so he said he did not want to give them special protections by the state any longer.
It does not now nor did it ever have anything to do with LGBTQ+ people or days set aside for them.
Now let us watch as people on Twitter set this record straight.

PERFECT! If Disney were trying to hurt DeSantis, making sure that people visit the state and spend money is a really bad way to go about it.
Disney can hold any kind of special events they wish to hold, DeSantis is not trying to stop it and he will probably love the extra money coming into the state!
