As I write this, I'm looking at my 12-year-old son. He's sitting in our living room, reading a book and blissfully unaware of the tragedy that unfolded at a Catholic school in Minneapolis today. He, too, goes to Catholic school -- a choice I made during COVID when the public school system utterly failed our children.
But I'm not here to rehash COVID. I'm here to demolish the Democratic Party.
Why? Because after today's shooting, there should be no doubt in anyone's mind about the party's agenda and its priorities -- the two things that render every Democrat unfit for public office.
We'll start with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. The man who openly wept at the casket of George Floyd (the same summer I couldn't have a funeral for my father), condemned the thought of praying for the victims and demonstrated he has no idea what prayer is or how it works:

Prayer is not a magical talisman. It is a conversation with God, a source of faith affirmation and comfort, especially in times of distress.
But he's right. These children were praying. Praying when they were harmed by the alleged shooter, Robert Paul Westman. Authorities say Westman targeted the school, and his weapons were graffiti with anti-Trump, anti-Israel, and anti-Christian messages. Westman is trans and changed his name to Robin in 2019. For the past four years, the Biden-Harris administration classified Catholics as 'domestic terrorists' and said we were a threat to the transgender agenda, going so far as to say transgender people 'shape the soul of our nation.'
In the eyes of the Democratic Party, Catholic school children praying at Mass do not.
Every time the suspect of a mass shooting or high-profile crime is a White male, the Democratic Party has no problem condemning White men as a whole (or every single gun owner, for that manner). But Frey is mad that the rest of us noticed the shooter is trans. Sorry it hurts your feelings, Frey, but that's a fact.
Westman is just the latest in a string of violent transgender persons and activists: two transgender activists linked to burning Teslas and charged by the DOJ, shootings in Denver, Nashville, Aberdeen, Philadelphia, and Colorado Springs were committed by trans individuals. Meanwhile, Democrats in Minnesota insist they're going to go to the mattresses for the trans community.
As my colleague JustMindy wrote today, the 'safe' hormone replacement therapy given to trans individuals like Westman leads to serious psychological issues, including psychosis. Democratic policies are literally creating mass murderers in the name of gender identity.
To add fuel to that fire, they also endorse violence in the name of 'trans rights.' Minnesota Lt. Governor Penny Flanigan wore none-too-subtle t-shirt about 'protecting trans kids,' a sentiment that's echoed across the Left.

One could safely conclude that Democrats want psychotic, violent 'trans women' (read: men) in our public spaces and endorse violence in the name of 'protecting trans kids' and 'trans rights.'
Frey wasn't the only Democrat to attack prayer. Jen Psaki chimed in, claiming prayers are not enough:

Let's be very clear here: when Psaki and Krassenstein wrote this, two children were dead and several more were injured. The bodies weren't even cold, and the Left was not only attacking prayer, they were calling -- once again -- for gun control.

Rep. Jason Crow also turned the shooting into a racial issue and a condemnation of President Trump's immigration policies:

They don’t give a d**n about the safety of our kids and communities.
Meanwhile, Dems will continue to fight for real public safety and gun reform.
That last sentence is a lie. Democrats have been enacting soft-on-crime laws, including cashless bail, the decriminalization of felonies to misdemeanors, and the decriminalization of shoplifting for years. They claim that's 'public safety' but it's not.

I've come to realize today the Democrats don't really believe in gun control laws. They know they won't work. The Democratic Party is corrupt and evil, but they're not stupid. Shootings happen in gun-free zones routinely, and every mass shooter would have been able to obtain a gun under the 'reform' they demand.
What they want is to strip people like me of my Second Amendment rights, while they continue allowing the chaos we see in D.C., Chicago, and other major cities to run unchecked. The last week and a half confirm this. The chaos that comes with unchecked crime gives the Democrats power; it reduces the quality of life for everyone except an elite segment of society.
In some ways, I understand the reasoning behind their grandstanding and attacks. The alleged shooter threw yet another wrench into their transgender agenda, and an open, targeted attack on Catholic children after a presidency that demonized Catholics as terrorists looks really bad with normie voters. Democrats can't afford to lose many more of us, after all.
All the Democrats had to do today was not be insane, offer condolences for the victims and their families, and keep their mouths shut. But they couldn't do it.
Instead, they chose to continue doubling and tripling down on the anti-Catholic, anti-gun, and pro-trans rhetoric that got them to 19% approval. And they did it on the freshly dug graves of school children. From Minneapolis to D.C., they are wholly unfit for public office and should be shamed from all polite society.
They covered themselves in glory today, and we won't forget it.
