Fear? It isn’t gonna drum up itself!

And no one knows that better than the Democrats, who are knee-deep in a campaign to terrify the American public about the chaos that will ensue if the looming sequestration cuts — which, as it happens, originated in the Democratic White House — go into effect this week.

You think criminals roaming the streets will be bad? Just you wait! The White House is detailing the impending meltdown state by state.

And as Dem politicians and strategists will tell you, the apocalypse is nigh:

Oh, the humanity!

The National Drug Intelligence Center, shut down last June, will be shut down???!!! These cuts are so bad, they’re affecting America retroactively!

Yep! All it takes is a little compromise, according to President Practical. He’s so practical, in fact, that he’ll be traveling to Newport News, Virginia, tomorrow, to address the sequester head-on:

And just to show how serious he is, he’ll be dropping some serious taxpayer money, to the tune of $180,000 an hour:

Hey — no one ever said saving money was cheap.

What is cheap? Obama’s talk.

Why, isn’t that adorable. All of the Nostradumbasses tweeting their pathetic, post-sequester prophecies.

They’re only lying if their lips are moving.

  • Joe W.

“Cry me a river…cry me a river…I cried a river…over you….”….Tough sh*t, losers. We have NO MONEY. What part of NO MONEY do y’all not understand?????

  • Jack Deth

(*With apologies to Bill Murray and the Ghostbusters crew.*)

Regarding Rep. Lowenthal’s tweet: CA wouldn’t need $87.6M for schools if our state wasn’t overrun by illegal immigrants. This is why Liberal logic fails on every level. They are against enforcing immigration laws, welcome illegal immigrants who reproduce like crazy, their kids get welfare, food stamps, education, etc. while the parents pay little or no taxes. If Rep. Lowenthal is so concerned about funds for education in CA, why not do more stop the flood of illegal immigrants who are an extreme burden on our resources?

    • DwellsInFire

And California just built the nation’s most expensive school ever at $578 million, to the shock and disgust of many. CA seems to have plenty of money to waste.

      • Michelle

No doubt that price tag is enormous and surely includes a ton of waste on unnecessary crap, but in the interest of accuracy I’d like to point out the $578M was to build three schools, not just one. It’s a complex that houses an elementary school, a middle school and a high school. We don’t have a lot of money to waste, but here the Libs get what they want when they break out the “…but the children! What about the children?” crocodile tears.

  • J. Cox

Maybe the libs should ban job loss and sequester cuts….I mean banning things fixes it right?

  • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

In reality they all had 2 years to prioritize where cuts should occur. If they resulted in the most needed services being cut instead of the multiple layers of upper and mid management within the federal gubmint, then it proves a total lack of leadership.

Luckily for the Democrats, their voters won’t look up from the Idiot Box unless the EBT card needs “recharged.”

  • ejohnson8

$85 Billion is only 2.8% of the budget. The fed budget will increase by 16% this year with the sequester taking effect. They will have more money this year than last year to spend!!!! The sequester is only reducing the amount of the increase!! When are the real cuts going to take place?

  • Kevin Krom

The left’s political philosophy can’t afford to let the sequester go through. When it happens, and Armageddon doesn’t strike, it belies the whole “we can’t cut government or disasters will occur” mentality. (Never mind the fact that nothing is being cut at all, just that the rate of planned increase is being slowed.)

All of this scare tactic stuff is designed to force the Republicans to cave, but if they don’t (unlikely, but possible), the left essentially makes it worse for itself by overhyping the situation.

  • Sunshineandsurf

Notice the exact same wording in Chu and Pelosi tweets. Staffs are using boiler plate language in their scare tactics. Makes them less credible, = crying wolf.

  • SJ’s Dad

Damn Heritage Foundation, using Obama’s own words against him like that!

    Why they must be . . . starts with an (R) . . . doesn’t end in “I can”!!!

  • walterc

I keep reading about how many teachers and aides, police and fire fighters jobs would be in jeopardy, not a peep about how many administrative and bureaucrats would be out of work. Wonder why that is?

  • Steve_J

#stopthesequester OFA hasn’t received enough taxpayer money yet.

  • aPLWBinAK

Hey Oblamer and Whatsyername Schultz….the sequester was your idea in the first place, it’s time to own it….

  • Lamontyoubigdummy

So…cutting $85 billion from $3.4 trillion in this years spending is going to cost every job in America, cause the Federal Government to shut down, and the Yellowstone caldera to go ‘splodey or whatever.

What say we play grown up and have some fun with a hypothetical, shall we?

If this “panic” is not to be laughed at and ridiculed, then the infants in government are telling you that if you had $1 million dollars in your bank account, but, at some during your day today, you accidentally dropped a single $20 dollar bill out of your pocket somewhere…you’re fu-king DOOMED!

That’s it, man. The other $999,980 just ain’t enough!

You can no longer pay your mortgage, your bills, anything…GAME OVER, MAN! GAME OVER!!!

From now on it’s just food stamps, welfare, an Obamaphone, and the dirty card board box that is now your home under the overpass.

  • WisconsinPatriot

    WOLF WOLF WOLF!! WOLF!!!!!!!
    get it?

  • DwellsInFire

I see one lib mentioned the Head Start program, which is a useless program that doesn’t achieve any measurable benefit. There’s something that can be cut right there.

And I see another lib mention taking away aide for low income college students. So! We have too many college students and not enough jobs for them now. Why the hell are we over educating so many people for simplistic jobs or unemployment?

  • Peyton

Man all of those teachers must be getting huge salaries based on the amount of cuts they claim vs jobs affected.
