Apocalypse soon: Democrats ramp up scare campaign over sequestration cuts

It’s a vast oversimplification, but it works. The sequestration cuts scheduled to take effect next week were split down the middle between defense and non-defense spending to motivate both Democrats and Republicans to find alternative spending cuts. The GOP certainly wouldn’t allow defense programs to be cut, would it? Social programs, sure. Just perform a quick Google search of “sequestration cuts” and you’ll find headlines like “11 Drastic Sequester Cuts Threatening Average Americans” and “‘Meat Cleaver’ Sequestration Cuts to Hit Teachers, FBI Agents.”

Democrats have been trying to pin the “brutal” cuts on the House GOP despite the fact that the sequester originated in the White House. So, what sort of cuts are in store with the #Obamaquester? Let the Dems give you an idea of the post-apocalyptic wasteland that awaits. (Hint: expect food poisoning, cancer and possibly another school massacre.)

Wow, sounds bad. What other nightmares does the #Obamaquester hold?

Scared yet? The unflappable Charles Krauthammer urges you not to be.

They can pass a separate bill to fund military.
After that start cutting again. At this point i think everyone will realize how little we get for our buck.

Are they honestly telling me we can’t afford even a 1% cut in discretionary spending? The Democrats are like crack addicts; promising they’ll get clean tomorrow if you let them take just one more hit tonight.

And like drug addicts, they are in total denial about their addiction. (Obama and Pelosi: “We don’t have a spending problem. Stop saying we have a spending problem.”)

The really sad part is, the Republicans will probably cave and hand the Democrats the crack pipe… again.

Well, the Dems didn’t want surgical cuts, so shut up about the meat cleaver.

The Executive branch, not congress, wastes 125 billion per year, according to their own reports, and a 44 billion dollar sequester is out of the question? Obama owns this, and he wants it. #Obamaquester

    • geronl

That is over 10 years and its not a real cut but a lower increase

  • RblDiver

But will my 10 Obamaphones continue to function?

  • NRPax

So let’s say the sequestration happens and life goes on as normal without a sky filled with fire. It means a lot more people will be asking what we’re getting with our tax money. Not really having a problem with that.

    • Gallatin

Exactly, their afraid that it will be proven that the “Emperor has no clothes”.

They ordered the Big Mac combo but taking the huge cut by not getting it super sized large drink and fries, just medium size drink and fries. As a result the local McD had to fire the fry guy.

Chicken Little is a Democrat. Here is the story if you do not know it, and it is the perfect analogy:

Stay the current course and your family WILL lose out on health care and you WILL get less and make no mistake, you WILL suffer.

“What #SEQUESTER means: Up to 2,100 fewer food inspections. Do you want to worry about safety of food on your table?”

I grow as much of my own food as I can without playing urban basketball or videogames all day in da Hood, my mommy’s basement or my dorm room.

That way I get to inspect my own food.

Three hour airport security lines? Fine. Fewer travelers being groped, molested and having their stuff stolen.

Curing cancer? Yeah, that’s not going to happen tomorrow, either. To suggest scientists are “racing” toward a cure shows complete ignorance of the scientific method. Which party is anti-science again?

WARN notices? Oh, you mean the ones the Administration tried to keep the lid on until after the election?

Fewer food inspections? Because the current inspectors are doing such a *great job* not catching e coli and listeria breakouts.

Sequestergeddon is more overhyped than a crummy Alec Baldwin film.

The reality is, if you take the entire budget of this country into consideration, Sequester is akin to walking up to the beach and removing a handful of sand.

Libs in Washington, go sell your Armageddon schtick to people who don’t have a clue…you know, your constituents. We call ’em budgets for a reason.

    • geronl

removing a handful of sand and throwing into the water a few feet away

  • DwellsInFire

Hey, remember when Obama dumped 850 billion of stimulus dollars into the economy and it didn’t make a difference? So my thinking is a cut of 85 billion will be 10 times less noticeable.

  • QBallBrazil

You mean they’re going to have to make cuts to the Federal Customer Support Line for Teleprompter Services?!

Ha, Pelosi’s link leads to a REPORT ON SEQUESTRATION By House Appropriations Committee Democrats.

Obama created the Sequester. Then blames Congress. Not surprised. Has he ever taken responsibility for any of his failed policies? I didn’t think so.

3 Things To Remember As Obama & The Dems Relentlessly Scare-Monger O The Sequester For The Next Week:

On point #2: the Fed Gov’t doubled it’s spending in just 11 years, from 2000 to 2011. But cutting what amounts to less than 2% of the Fed. budget = Armaggedon!

A 5% spending increase instead of a 7% increase is a national crisis. This is insane, this country is toast.

Spending levels back to 2011? I suspect this will be the catalyst for the forewarned zombie apocalypse.

Just another phony crisis manufactured by Amerika’s drama queens, Obamuh and the Dembeciles. And anyway, who gives a c-rap if a bunch of overpaid slacker gubmint workers get furloughed or lose their jobs? Let them know what it’s like for all the long-term unemployed in the private sector whose taxes get devoured paying overblown salaries for a lot of unnecessary gubmint jobs.

That aerial pic of the Capitol Wasteland from Fallout 3 was a nice choice to use for the front page of this post. Hopefully Bethesda wont get pissy about it. As far as the scare tactics, this is the only way dems have ever managed to get any of their crap past public scrutiny as they know the enemedia will readily go along with their distraction propaganda. I used to think people were too hip to these lame schemes and sick enough of the ridiculous lib media bias for any of it to work, but then the mr. pied piper lord of the dumb asses obama was re-elected… so um yeah. That all went up in smoke!

Let’s get this straight, the sequester means the gov will spend only $15 billion more next year than this year. That’s the truth about the “cuts”. Just a “reduction in increase”
