Here we go! Jim Treacher forecasts GLARING media double standard with Oprah 2020 buzz

For years, lots of liberals have had a weird obsession with Oprah Winfrey. Between her emotional Golden Globes speech and NBC’s “accidental” tweet suggesting that she should be the next president, the ensuing swoon-fest has been nothing short of nauseating — and downright creepy.

Today, the CNN reported that Oprah’s longtime partner Stedman Graham said that “she would absolutely do it,” despite her saying last year that she had no interest.

More:

“I want her to run for president,” [Meryl] Streep told The Post. “I don’t think she had any intention [of declaring]. But now she doesn’t have a choice.”

Earlier in the evening, Globes host Seth Meyers actually teed up the speculation.

“Oprah,” Meyers said, looking out at her in the audience, “in 2011, I told some jokes about our current president at the White House Correspondents Dinner — jokes about how he was unqualified to be president — and some have said that night convinced him to run. So if that’s true, I just want to say: Oprah, you will never be president! You do not have what it takes!”

The laughs and cheers from the crowd made it clear: Winfrey would have a lot of supporters in the entertainment industry.

Wouldn’t Oprah for President really be something? And it wouldn’t just be the entertainment industry propping up her campaign; she’d no doubt have plenty of help from the media, too.

The election cycle is shaping up quite nicely.
