Nope, those days have long passed us by.

That, or another expensive Big Government initiative to roll out.

Mrs. Obama’s appearance follows her Friday night dance-off with Jimmy Fallon and her smooch-in with Chris Christie tonight.

Big Government busybodies, busy bees. The White House-Hollywood industrial complex is riding high.

Liberal water-carriers for the Obamas rushed to point out that Ronald Reagan appeared at the Oscars. Um, yeah, never mind that he actually made a living as an actor in Hollywood. Derp:

Update: Who arranged the FLOTUS cameo? Lib Hollywood power player Harvey Weinstein.

  • gracepmc

Next year’s nominee for best actress for portraying a First Lady, Michelle Obama.

    • Sherry Harvey

I think she would lose on that one. She doesn’t do it very well.

    • 6cheri6

Nahhh, First Lady’s are classy. Michele is a poor actress.

      • ntbarnes

    • Secede

For pretending she now loves America ? And actually cares about us

  • Mary Ryan

Just when I thought it was a great show lots of fun, the MO. Really????? Wonder how many tax payer dollars that cost

    • Karen

You’d best believe that the cost of that dress didn’t come from her own pocketbook.

      • Patsplacepp

@twitter-22385849:disqus @kdante:disqus exactly how much do you think a free dress from an American designer costs in US dollars. Or are you worried about the cost of the satellite link up fees through DISHTV? Pathetic go read a book or something

        • Laura Thompson

FLOTUS has an enormous “personal” budget…that we ALL pay for…don’t think for one minute that dress was “free from an American designer”

          • KayGee

Thats right, as any good faithful Murican knows, anything the Obamas do is a massive waste of tax payer $$$$ THAT WE JUST CANNOT AFFORD. That hard earned tax payer money NEEDS to go where it’s useful: to tax breaks and bailouts for our friends in wall street/oil and their buds in congress.

  • Michelle

That made me livid, absolutely livid.

    • Tangchung

Same here, ruined the whole show.

    • flybwoy

      Drama queen

      • Tangchung

        AA returns as flybwoy

        • wwbdinct

Ha ha! Gotcha. Such a life they lead these trolls.

      • Jimmy in TxHillcountry

        flybwoy <———– Just a Queen.

        • v1cious

More homophobia. Got any N-words to throw out while you’re at it?

          • Jimmy in TxHillcountry

Not homophobia Einstein,,,, You must be racist if me “throwing out words” is all you think about. If you libbies would stop insulting people who don’t agree with you the comments would clean up on their own. Clean up your act – oh insolent one.

          • v1cious

Yeah, right. You’re gonna tell me you just called him a “Queen” in jest. At least have the decency to stand behind your insults.

          • Jimmy in TxHillcountry

Go back up and read the comments moron,,,,, get you a life.

          • Laura Thompson

…you probably defended The Onion post too…

      • Michelle

Because I believe the First Lady of The United States of America ought to act like a dignified representative of my country and not some fame-crazed Hollywood wannabe celebrity, I’m a drama queen? I’m cool with that, never been called one in my whole life, always wondered what it was like. Thanks, now I know!

        • Rabid

I guess Hollywood forgets that the only time she’s been proud to be American is when her hubby was elected POTUS.

    • Karen

Absolutely unnecessary. The only redeeming part was Ben Affleck’s acceptance speech & that he never mentioned the White House intervention.

  • Tangchung

It’s just one long self promoting campaign with the Obama’s, it never ends.

    • Karen

Ever. And it won’t. This was just supposed to be a nice evening – why make it a political statement?

      • Tangchung

Obama’s will do anything to avoid working.

      • Ter Fitzgerald

Because, this is what we have allowed to happen.

        • Karen

          Well, I didn’t allow it.

        • col

Speak for yourself. I didn’t allow it to happen. The idiots that voted for him are the ones that let it happen. Every one of them are just as responsible for everything that happens to this country as Obama is. They are the ones that put him in office and now everyone that didn’t support him are having to pay for their lack of judgement.

          • Bob Fuhrman

I think this is a little tamer than allowing a couple of useless wars to happen by voting for the last person to sit in the Oval Office. We’re still payin for that.

          • KayGee

oh noess you can’t mention Bush, you contemptible liberal. It’s been 4 + another 4 years already and Obummer still can’t do anything right, even with all these reps in congress that are more than willing to put the country first and fix america! Everything you speak is poisonous lies!

          • Ipsophakto

Useless wars? The ones Obama kept? Say, when is Zero-truth 4 coming out? Who gets the award for best fiction involving a video?

          • Seer1165

you must of forgotten about how we were attacked on 9/11/2001

          • Irish78623

James I think a lot of people have forgotten how we were attacked on 9/11/2001. That is part of the problem.

        • nick

hope every libtard that voted these Marxists to power come to realize and suffer for their dangerous folly.

    • Luke Givens

I knew when I saw this last night the wingnut spewing, shrieking, wailing and gnashing of teeth at the sight of the FLOTUS presenting an award would be sweet, so thank-you all, you did not disappoint. Though as sweet as it is to read your jeremiads, I can’t help but feel pity for all of you. You are all just as seriously angry and disturbed as the random lefty tweeters that you denounce every day. Try to get some fresh air or something, it’s wonderful.

      • Red Fred

We don’t really give a rat sass, they are after all “Hollywood elite.”

      • Tangchung

If liberals see us enjoying air they will tax it…oh wait they already did.

      • grais

Doesn’t it look to you like the fix was in?

      • $36544368

Why don’t you go find another posting board to torture. Your being here adds nothing to the discussion, and your snippy attitude just shows you don’t live in the reality of what’s going on in this once-great nation. Don’t feel any pity for me. The FLOTUS undoubtedly spent significant time getting ready, and TV cameras, lighting, etc. all had to be set up…for what? A 15-second announcement of the winner? And having some members of military behind her smacks of tacky. Can’t we have something in this country where the Obamas are not in our face all the time?

      • ntbarnes

It is disturbing to see the lack of class that the first lady and the president present. They have totally disgraced the office to many of us here in the US and certainly in the rest of the world.

      • Douglas White

Can’t hear you Obot. Please remove your head from the tyrants ass and then maybe we can understand you.

    • Randi Starr

      Narcissism at it’s best………

  • YaakovMar

Wow I’m actually glad I missed the Oscars tonight!

    • Rabid

For once I’m glad I had to go into work Sun!

  • Sam

That grated my nerves as well. Should have played the music she talked for so long, I was ready to turn off my TV.

  • Ted Nemec

FLOTUS and her husband continue to lower the office of the Presidency. Such trash, second I saw MOOOOOOO-shelle come on I turned the show off.

    • Ter Fitzgerald

They are also lowering our standard of living. In these trying times they never miss a chance to vacation, do they?

    • Judie Reasons

and so did I. Made me sick!

    • Luke Givens

She was poised and articulate, and all she did was present an award. What exactly would make you spew that she is trash? Oh yeah you’re an angry, bitter clinger. Never mind.

      • 6cheri6

Because First Ladies are not supposed to be all about themselves. As Ted said, she lowers the office….her and her “eye candy” husband! They need to move to Hollywood and let serious politicians run the country!

      • Laura Thompson

Why would you spew that Ted is an angry, bitter clinger?? Oh yeah…you have been guzzling the Flavor-Aid for waaaaaay too long…bless your heart…

      • lainer51

does not make her trash, makes her a narcissist.

  • flybwoy

Reoublicans are only full of hate. It seems like republicans only like white, stuffy and boring first ladies

    • charrenee

Reoublicans? Example of what the Liberal public education system gets ya.
What happens when you pay People to vote for you, instead of teaching our kids.

      • David

Yes, because a typo where the o is right next to the p is indicative of someone’s education… so telling…

    • Jacksee3

Yeah, b/c who doesn’t want to see the first lady in all things, everywhere you go. You guys on the left have a serious messiah complex issue, seek therapy please.

    • yurigar

Doesn’t matter if it was Ann Romney up there had Mitt won. It’s unprecedented and basically unnecessary. The President and Michelle continue to degrade the prestige of the Presidency by doing these stupid late night talk shows, pod casts, and lame interviews with DJ’s with names like “Pimp with a Limp”. Name me how many times in history the First Lady has presented an award at an awards show?? any awards show? Ronald Reagan was an actor but he never involved himself in Hollywood while he was President. Not a race thing Flybwoy, it’s because this stuff is below the President and The First Lady to do these publicity stunts.

      • v1cious

After Bush II, you guys have no place to talk about degrading the presidency. Can we talk about the time his daughters got busted for DUI? How about the time he nearly choked to death on a pretzel, and his vice president shot someone in the face?

        • J. Cox

did I know if I scrolled more than half a page..a random libtard would find something to blame on bush. Now with the racist comments above, you libs have the trifecta in idiocy in under an hour…gratz

          • v1cious

I’m not blaming anything, I’m merely pointing out the hypocrisy here. Don’t accuse someone of “Degrading the Presidency” when your party is equally guilty of the same thing.

          • mike_in_kosovo

Quite a difference between Zero and Mooch inserting themselves into everything under the sun and your fantasy world, skippy.

          • TocksNedlog

            Stupid is as stupid does.

        • yurigar

After Clinton you have no place to talk about Bush II degrading the presidency. Did you forget the Lewinsky scandal??
And the things you listed about Bush II “degrading” the Presidency were all out of his control. His daughters were in Austin at the time, and were not busted for DUI, just alcohol possession. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people nearly choke everyday, so not surprising it would happen to a President. And are we going to start judging Presidents based on their VPs?? That would set a pretty bad precedent, especially given the gaffe-machine that is Joe Biden.

          • mike_in_kosovo

            True dat!!

        • TocksNedlog

          What about Boooooooooooooooooossssssh??????!!11!!!????

      • moughnay clark

I agree. Can you imagine how we look to the rest of the world with Michelle “getting her groove” on late night tv? Besides this can only mean her husband is up to something if he’s trying to distract us with these antics.

      • topmah

‘this stuff is below’ them–you’re exactly right, but just look at the purpose it serves–puts them right in there with the crowd who elected him. They fit right in with the ‘wish I could hang with Beyonce’ bunch, the clueless Detroit types who think it’s ‘Obama’s money’, & stuffy elites who tolerate it so they can keep on the good side of the prez & his consort. The strategy of ‘they be one of us’ put ’em in office & left dignity in the dirt–guess you really can’t ‘make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear’…

        • v1cious

This is such a ridiculous argument. By your logic, throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game is shaming the oval office.

          • yurigar

Throwing out the first pitch is shaming the oval office, if you throw like the current President does. And please explain to me in what universe throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game(America’s pastime) is even in the same league as being on late night TV, The View, interviews with dumb DJs, or presenting the top award at the Oscars??

          • TocksNedlog

Bush threw a strike; Obama threw wearing mom jeans. Same action, different results.

      • Harry A

Laura Bush did it in 2002, but im pretty sure that had more to do with September 11th having happened.

        • yurigar

You’re right, Laura was part of a short opening film by Errol Morris with over 100 people(including Gorbachev) talking about movies. And she didn’t present an award, not too mention the biggest award of the Oscars.

    • Karen

First, learn to spell. Second, it’s not a political forum & this administration strives to politicize absolutely everything. It’s rather pathetic.

      • David

What did she say that was political? Do tell.

        • Karen

Government is a political entity. When a representative of government appears at a function it makes a political statement, whether intentional or not. Ergo the need for discretion & responsibility. It is not what she said – there really wasn’t anything to disagree with – it is that she appeared at all. It was simply inappropriate – not because her name is Michelle Obama, but because she is the First Lady.

          • David

I didn’t realize that Michelle Obama was an elected official. I didn’t realize that the first lady was a government position. Interesting.

    • Al Sona

You are dumb. Lincoln was about whites freeing blacks, by the way Republicans.

      • moughnay clark

That was all about the money. It always is. Dig a little deeper.

        • J. Cox

Dumbest reply ever…but do go on with revisionist history..its rather comical.

        • TocksNedlog

It’s okay. We scratched the surface and already got to the root of your depth.

    • Ms Anonymous

I could care less about race. I’d prefer a first lady with a little more mental and emotional maturity.

    • disqus_lJapfzCIUh

At least they didn’t spread on the floor with Helen Degeneres like a dog in heat…real classy First Lady…belly dancing and all…

    • Angie (D)

      You’re a racist. No surprise — scratch a prog, uncover a racist.

    • TocksNedlog

      Come on now!

      Nobody likes Hillary.

  • charrenee

I’m surprised they didn’t let her announce zero dark thirty considering her husband directed it by giving out sensitive infor

    • catb55

I didn’t hear anyone mention that the GOOD DOCTOR who got the proof of OBL in Pakistan is still IN PRISON >> Hey Obama why don’t you do something about that!

    • nick

wouldnt you protect your own ? thats all Barry was doing.

  • Spatial Awareness

Wasn’t there a time when nobody thought anyone could top media whores Bubba & Shilliary?

    • Ms Anonymous

When Bubba was President, I wondered if we could ever go any lower than that pair of low rent hucksters. These two self promoting pieces of crap have them beat by a mile.

      • Ntr

And if the nation can survive that long we probably see a Democrat that’ll outdo the Obamas. After that, this nation’ll be looking like Idiocracy.

    • nick

and you aint seen nothin’ yet ,Spatial A !

  • charrenee

Makes sense, After all 90% in Hollywood get tax breaks

  • sybilll

So…I assume we will see the Republican First Lady give out the Best Picture award in 2017. Amirite? Seriously, amirite?

    • David

Wouldn’t that take a Republican candidate winning the Presidency in 2016? I’d put money on Bill Clinton announcing best picture before any Republican first lady.

      • Nicole Coulter

I didn’t know they had a category for best porn flick.

      • disqus_lJapfzCIUh

Bill will fit right in with the rest of these parasites…a pervert is a well liked troll with the Hollyweirds…

      • disqus_LASIg6epmj

Sybil said giving out Best Picture Award in 2017. The next prez will be elected in 2016, but won’t actually be an admin change until Jan 2017 so Syb is correct.

        • David

You missed the point entirely. No republican is going to beat Hillary Clinton. And thus there will not be a republican first lady in 2017. Comprehension goes a long way.

      • 6cheri6

        “The impeached President” award….

      • TocksNedlog

You’d be better off investing that money in Solyndra.

  • $19701396

I love it. Everything she does drives you people crazy. It’s glorious to watch.

    • $38343398

Says the sycophant communist $540 tennis shoe licker.

    • Karen

Not everything. Just the inappropriate things. Like this.

    • disqus_lJapfzCIUh

      STFU cockroach…Argo is doomed…

    • J. Cox

You mean how she degrades herself and her position so low rent voters like you will think she is “cool”? people running the country…that’s what we need.

    • Angie (D)

So it’s glorious to have the FLOTUS associated with songs about boobs & orgy jokes? Congrats — you’re stupid & classless enough to be a full fledged Obama supporter!

  • Jon Wearley

I have to agree with Chuck Woolery, except for the fact that I have been forced to watch Pat Sajak for the last 30+ years…!!!

  • imme

Ann Romney would have been asked to present Best Picture, right??? HAHAHAHA

    • Terry L Wallace

She has more Class and star quality

    • mv74

Only if it was a movie about a horse.

  • Pete

    SOOOOOOOO Unnecessary!

  • Ntr

Argo’s win, with FLOTUS as award announcer, is clear propaganda to warm people up to war with Iran. A war we can’t afford in more ways than one.

On top of it Argo is historical inaccurate giving the federal government more credit than they deserve…another sign of propaganda with Hollywood’s “sweetheart” lefty playing the main role. There so arrogant with it these days and it’s sickening.

    • Smitty 

LULZ. You mean the War that Israel has been trying for years to get the U.S. to join in??

      • Ntr

Whatever. This is a war that has been being pushed long before this decade. One would have to go back to the 80s for that. The truth has little to do with Israel. Bringing them up, as the one pushing us for war with Iran, only disrupts your and others’ credibility.

Sure, Israel has an interest in seeing an Iranian regime change. So does Turkey, especially Saudi Arabia (did you forget about them) and every Middle Eastern country with friendliness towards the U.S. But our government, on its own, has far more to gain than Israel would from such a thing.

      • TocksNedlog

You seem to be really, really lost.

  • Karen

Is it just me or did this feel just a little Big Brother-ish? I kind of got chills…

  • Chip

Movie about embassy rescue wins oscar same year that four are left to die in Benghazi….

    • Richard Wayne

As I said in another post, could there be a better presenter than a representative of this white house for such a film winner? Also great that all these artists are cheering a white house that imprisoned a film maker in a failed attempt to cover his ass. sickening times.

  • Nicole Coulter

Oh good grief. No wonder I never watch the Oscars. Self-serving pompous blowhards.

    • James Barnhart

That’s why I call it the vanity awards, look at how many awards ceremonies they have. How vain can you get?

  • Angie (D)

It started with a song about boobs and jokes about orgies at Roman Polanski’s & Jack Nicholson’s houses & ended with FLOTUS — I blame the producers for approving that script knowing FLOTUS was showing up at end, but I also blame MO because when you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

  • Booker

    This country is in trouble.

  • $22639970

Just one more example of the Obamas’ insatiable need to masturbate in public.

  • allysonrowentaylor

I am never going to a hollywierd movie again. Mixing White House Royalty, with Hollywood royalty! Wow, have the lines crossed, but God forbid we say God in school! What amazing narcissistic morons. I am going to throw up now.

  • Susie Fitzgerald

I don’t watch the Oscar’s anymore-They are getting to political with Hollywood now.

  • gregzotta

Who were those people standing behind Moochelle as props?

    • Roto

^^ Servicemen about to be booted out by her husband’s stupid sequester idea

  • Manocha Nakanant

I think Michelle Obama’s next appearance will be on a soda can telling me to make a healthier decision.

    • Clayton B

I’d rather see her face on the back of a milk carton….

      • TocksNedlog

With a caption that says, “Have you seen this woman’s brain?”

  • DwellsInFire

Hey, don’t the children at Newtown deserve a vote for best picture?

  • Clayton B

Mace Windu in the opening skit, Chewbacca in the closing . . . .

  • Roto

The Obama’s surprised the country w/ FLOTUS announcing a Hollywood award…
Bush surprised the country by flying into a warzone for the troops at Thanksgiving…

  • beebop1952

My fantasy perfect day is the day after he leaves office and no mention in the media of either the emperor or his queen.

  • Guest

BLOTUS is envious of the attention-seeking POTUS…

  • radjahshelduck

I can’t make up my mind about this. I understand the groans and the comments that she has nothing to do with motion pictures. On the other hand, a couple of years ago Bill O’Reilly–with Ashley Judd’s mom at his side–announced an award at a televised country music gala. I guess you could distinguish the two by noting that probably 90% or more of country fans watch Fox News whereas lots of moviegoers dislike the Obamas.

    • Roto

maybe distinguish the two by Talk Show Host vs. tax-funded First Lady?….

    • TocksNedlog

And WHAT political office did Bill O hold at that time?

  • oneword

    The Obamas make me sick

  • DisgustedinTexas04

Gotta make themselves relevant, again and again and again…

  • Terry_Jim

The difference between the White House and Hollywood:

One is the American seat of preening narcissism, gross extravagance, and fantasy,

    and the other is Hollywood.

  • Randi Starr

See, I knew they weren’t really the President and his wife. They are just playing the part.

  • Michele C

If it is in him wanting to be in the limelight it’s her enough is enough! and what do you expect from people who are wanna be rock stars?

  • Vlad99

LOL sour grapes, I’m sure all the critics would not have a problem with Ann Romney there though. More republicans tears ;P poor Ann who was sure it was “THEIR TIME”. Wonder what she has to say about the FLOTUS at the Oscar?

    • Steve_J

      You’re assuming too much.

    • yurigar

Sour Grapes?? How is pointing out the fact that this is unprecedented, unnecessary, and below the office of the Presidency being sour grapes?? You don’t see a problem with a non-Hollywood entity presenting the Oscar for Best Picture, and basically making Jack Nicholson’s appearance pointless? It was a PR Stunt, a shameless one at that, can you not see that?

    • Matt

No, see, you think that because you’re incredibly stupid. Conservatives don’t worship the people that run the country, even when those people are conservatives, and they don’t feel the need to make sure the people that run the country are inserted into every single pop culture event. Did you see Obama’s Super Bowl interview? Or when he picked the NCAA bracket? Remember when George W Bush picked his NCAA bracket and it was televised? OH wait, neither do I.

    • TocksNedlog

  • Steve_J

Why? What is her connection to the actual event or even the movie?

  • Robert Valentine

In a world…. where politics and pompous self-serving elitists gather, there can only be one phrase to describe it… it’s ….. “The Obama Doctrine”

  • Matt

I like how Hollywood decided they’d just pee on conservatives. Just pee, all over them, so they’d know their place. Hey, lets put Jane Fonda, Barbara Stresiand and James Earl Jones in drag on stage. Cause conservatives don’t buy movie tickets or watch DVDs.

I was surprised Obama didn’t win best actor, quite frankly. Daniel Day Lewis is an acting midget compared to the liar-in-chief.

  • ConservativeCreole

    VERY inappropriate and completely DIStasteful!!!!!!

  • Matt

Personally, I think Obama should have won best director for Zero Dark Thirty and Best Actor, just because. I mean, Obama winning those awards make about as much sense as him winning a Nobel. While we’re at it, lets give him the Congressional Medal of Honor and maybe a Grammy for Best Album.

  • lillymckim

Argo made on a $44 Million budget, which included a $6.4Million Cali film tax credit. Brings new meaning to “Made in Hollywood”.

The Obama White House was made in Hollywood. Paybacks, and Michelle wanted to wear her new bangs somewhere.

When did the GOP become the sore loser party?

    • Madley

it’s the far right conservative part that’s the crybabies. Far Left liberals are the same way.

The difference being about half the GOP are far right while about 15% of the Democratic Party are far left.

Preparing her for a Presidential run in 2016.

This site should be called Bitchy. All that goes on here is bitching and moaning.

Big Crap that the first lady was invited to give an award via satellite. She didn’t say anything controversial.

I would like to hope if this every happens in the future with another first lady people don’t cry over it.

We should have more industries like The movie industry. At least they have a trade surplus with foreign countries.

My gripe about this is simple: Michelle Obama has absolutely nothing to do with Hollywood, so why should she present the most prestigious award of the Oscars? Do you know how hard it is to become a presenter at the Oscars??, especially for Best Picture. Most actors go their whole careers without ever getting to present an Oscar and this took away someone’s chance(possibly only chance), not too mention she made Jack Nicholson irrelevant. It’s nothing against Michelle, just doesn’t seem appropriate for a non-actor/director to present the final Oscar.

Then complain to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Wouldn’t make a difference. These are the same guys who left out Affleck for Best Director, think they would listen to a ‘non-elitist’ like me?

          • Madley

That’s what happens when you expand the number of nominees for Best Picture without expanding for Best Director. This is all done by votes. I saw 8 of the 9 movies. I didn’t see Les Miserables and wasn’t crazy about Amour but the rest of the films were pretty damn good.

I liked Argo more than Zero Dark Thirty but neither director was nominated. Life of Pi was excellent and unique as was Beasts of the Southern Wild. I thought Silver Linings Playbook was a great movie too

I don’t see any major mistakes in the the awards.

Yea, I still don’t like the expanded Best Picture field, but I will say besides the Affleck snub(IMO, though I think Ang Lee still would’ve won), I didn’t really see any other mistakes unlike year’s past.

I’m still pissed at them for leaving out Brad Renfro from the In Memoriam section couple years back, Mickey Rourke losing to Sean Penn, Julia Roberts winning, and Reese Witherspoon being snubbed for Election.

This year’s winners were pretty spot on.

Do the Obama’s (he and she) have their SAG cards yet? They should by now considering their current and future acting careers.
