Indeed. That’s what happens when one only has the vast experience of a community organizer from which to draw.

But, there’s more! Brit Hume also took President Obama to task for his pitiful sequester scare tactics.

Boom! Twitter users are picking up what Hume is laying down.

Yep. But, will people listen?

Precisely. But, what’s worse, low-information voters evidently include the likes of Donna Brazile, who is wondering why on earth her health insurance premiums are going up.

Forward!

Memo to Low Information Voters: (Not you, webnetcity!)

Has anyone in the media explained what a “Community Organizer” is, or what he does?

A “Community Organizer” is a fresh faced graduate for a prestigious law school. Who invites himself unannounced, into the office of an inner city bank’s Vice President. Then threatens protests and worse if that bank’s VP doesn’t give the “Community Organizer” exactly what he wants. Then more and more once the hook is sunken deep.

Now, take that “Community Organizer” off the street. Clear a path for a Senate seat from the most politically powerful city in the U.S. Then push him into Executive Office and go replay in your mind how Obama has gotten what he’s wanted over the past four years.

Heard a sound bite on the radio today, it was Obama responding to the prospect of having to actually make and ultimately take responsibility for sequestration cuts . . .
    . . . I’ve never actually heard a POTUS sound genuinely scared before, he said;
(Paraphrasing) It’s too big a job, too much! (Afraid he might have to cancel a round of golf? . . . maybe even have to, oh I dunno, . .. GASP . . . DO HIS JOB!!!!!!!!!)

  • WVS

I see a lot of people putting together the “eight-year campaign” theme. They’re right. In case you didn’t know, that’s not normal. A second-term president doesn’t act like this. He’s still pouring all his energy–think his upcoming rock-band-like U.S. tour–into selling the agenda. I have to wonder if the left’s plan, whether it’s tacit or actually written out somewhere, is to use Obama as a salesman/martyr for the long-term goals. The American people at large can’t be sold on the left’s full agenda as quickly as they’d like; it can’t all be accomplished in eight years. So Obama’s the salesman. Maybe they thought he was their messiah, but honest libs have to acknowledge he just isn’t getting it done–and won’t with a GOP House. I’m not prescient enough to figure out who’ll be the one to close the deal, although Hillary just doesn’t seem to fit that role. This whole thing’s a chess match. I’m convinced the Dems are thinking ahead at least a decade, while the GOP is too busy doing damage control on idiots’ rape comments and Romney’s 47 percent.

What I do know is that the Dems HAVE to win 2016 for this scheme to fly. Most of what Obama’s gotten can be quickly undone otherwise, and his few successes are generally stepping stones to larger objectives. They need the opportunity to take the next steps (revisiting cap-and-trade, going fully socialized with health care, ramping up gun control, etc.). So if you think this last election was nasty, you ain’t seen nothing yet. 2016 will be a knock-down-drag-out brawl, replete with kicking and biting and eye gouging and probably a shank or two. For the left, three straight wins would let them claim a “mandate” for an even harder left turn. For the right, the chance to rectify the last eight years may never come again. The character assassination of the GOP candidates will be unprecedented in American history–indeed, it’s already happening. If Rubio sipping water is a “career-ender” now, how low will the media sink in three years? If Ben Carson is a “token” now, what would be dug up in three years? Wonder why amnesty’s being pushed? The Dems need to create a new bloc to make sure they can win. If the left takes it, especially if suspect results (e.g., 100% precincts) decide a very tight contest, we could be on our way back to 1860. And if you think I’m exaggerating about that, you need to do some more exploring in the dark corners of the internet.

If Nanny Bloomberg can sniff at term limits, why can’t the Prevaricator-in-Chief?

It’s no accident that the Democrats and the Demedia* have been disparaging the Constitution since the former junior senator from Illinois – with a parent born in Kenya** – was chosen to be the 44th POTUS. The no-good-nicks will soon be telling us that the 22nd Amendment – like the 2nd Amendment – is outdated, if not racist.

Eh, I’m not writing off the possibility, but there’s a deceptively large chunk of the populace that’s thoroughly armed and already pissed off. The arms race between them and the government right now puts Reagan and Gorbachev to shame. Harry Reid has seemed to show a sliver of respect for that demographic’s power in the gun control fight. I think even the Obama admin gets that a hot civil conflict, no matter how small, could be unsurvivable politically for the left as a whole. And if it’s not small, it could be unsurvivable in more ways. There are folks who already see BHO as a would-be dictator, and we all know they (we?) aren’t going to stand by if he takes steps to become a real one. In fact, I think many of that mindset relish the thought of Obama trying to take a third term–it’s just the trigger they’d need, and it would gain them some wider support.

I have to agree with you that the dems have a long-term plan. A quick look back in history will reveal that what was done under Clinton came to fruition under a “Republican” president. The housing collapse was no accident, nor was it caused by “greedy wall street bankers”. Follow the money.

    • SpinMeNot

There is an old adage that says something along the lines of “never attribute to malice what can be better explained by incompetence”. I don’t think that applies to what is going on in Washington. You are exactly correct in your statements that BHO is not behaving like a typical second term President.

Historically, 2nd term Presidents accomplish less in their second terms than they did in their first. The opposition knows that said 2nd term POTUS can not be elected to a third term. This fact limits the amount of leverage the 2nd Term POTUS has, and makes it effectively impossible for him to personally make quid pro quo deals with individuals in Congress.

Indications are that BHO may actually achieve more progressive agenda items in his 2nd term than he did in his 1st term. The progressives have gotten incredibly well organized, have the vast majority of the media firmly in their camp, and the education system has produced a general population that believes in the progressive utopia.

And that last sentence is why 2014 might be more important than 2016. What a freaking nightmare…stave off the worst of the lunacy for six years, then lose control at the end. And naturally, the tsunami of the new policies’ consequences would probably break right at the start of President Rubio’s first term. Somehow, I doubt the media will be as keen on blaming the previous prez as they are now.

EDIT: Scratch that. If Dems take full control of Congress in 2014, there will be no President Rubio. Amnesty. Millions of new Dem voters. GOP toast.

        • SpinMeNot

The death of the viability of the GOP would indeed be the result, followed shortly by the Bill of Rights.

it must suck to be obama when he runs out of wiggle room!

  • tjp77

Come on, it’s win/win for him. He knows that there’s no way in hell the press will blame him for any pain caused by the sequester; quite the contrary, they’ll actively blame the Republicans for it. So Obama has zero incentive to manage the spending cuts responsibly — and in fact has a lot of incentive to make them as painful as possible.

On the other hand, if the cuts aren’t horribly painful, he runs the risk of losing his narrative on the absolute need for massive government spending. He’s successfully duped a great many people into believing that if the government spends one penny less than he wants, civilization as we know it will collapse. This absurd argument runs the risk of imploding if the sequester comes and goes without major disruptions to our daily life.

So why would Obama lift a finger here? Of course, a responsible leader would accept the political consequences and just do whatever was best for the people, but we all know that Obama isn’t a responsible leader. If it means a chance to demonize his ideological opponents, he has no problem letting the people suffer.

Why arent conservative leaders in Washington breaking it down like this? Why arent they holding press conferences on daily basis and call it for what it is? Call two or three a day from different congress critters and hit the preezy from different angles calling him out on his b.s.. Wheres Paul Ryan and his charts? These people in Washington have at thier disposal the tools to get the information to the l.i.v. If they call it like it is, often enough, it will have to saturate to a point of coverage.

I hear ya R.Collins,it’s frustrating they don’t do anything when it’s the perfect opportunity to do so and you know the left would, they do it at every opportunity.

The Dem’s have been planning and conniving since Gore lost the election. They took more control of the media and collected piles of money. The last pile came from the taxpayer to the unions and back to the party via a “stimulus”. This has been planned since the fall of the USSR.
