It isn’t just Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s creative spelling of “devices” that makes her gun-grabbing proposal absurd. DiFi’s proposed mutilation of gun owners’ rights is even more extensive than her maiming of the English language.

That’s not much of an exaggeration.

Feinstein’s legislation has yet to be released — she probably wants to pass the bill before you find out what’s in it  — but today her office shared a summary of her gun-grabbing proposal. “Onerous and absurd” look like mild criticisms after reading her outline of the proposed “assault weapons” ban.

National gun registry? Check! Banning guns based on the way they look? Check! Possible outlawing of certain BB guns, handguns, and semi-automatic rifles and shotguns? Yep, you guessed it. Check!

Feinstein’s proposal starts off with a ban on 120 “specifically-named firearms” that aren’t specifically named anywhere in her summary.

It’s like a Cracker Jack prize. The mystery is part of the allure, right?

More details:

A “military characteristic”? Like the ability to fire bullets?

Musket Morgan will be pleased as punch!

Think that if you like your BB gun you can keep it? Think again:

Of course, there’s one class of citizens that won’t feel any pressure to comply with the law if it passes.

Will the well-known exemption for people committing acts of journalism in the “public interest” be included in the bill?

Stay tuned.

Slowwwwwwly. A law here, a law there. Weaken this part here. Make ammo harder to get. Increase some taxes. Make the application incur a $1000 admin charge. Lots of little tricks.

Not in any of our lives, but in the future, guns will be as rare a sight in America as they are in Germany and Canada.

    • Robert Bihari

I read the synopses of the bill on her website, and it states that Thumb-hole stocks & the California “bullet button” mag releases will be specifically banned this time around also…so all you folks who jumped through hoops and paid extra to make your arms “California Legal” will now be criminals also.

      • freeinaz

I checked all over her bill and the net and couldn’t find the list of what she proposes to ban. I can just imagine the only thing not banned will be a single shot .22 made before 1910

This old geezer Feinstein offends my aesthetic sense. Time for her and her fellow CA geezer senator to retire. The city with the strictest gun control laws on the books has had 2,600+ shootings this year which is 800 MORE than in 2009 when the laws were drafted. Guns are prohibited from being sold within the city limits of Chicago and even legally registered guns are banned from the streets of Chicago which ironically is where most of the shootings have occurred. Are libturds so ignorant, naive and blinded by their own gun bigotry that they believe these crimes were committed by people with legally registered firearms?

Depending on who you ask, there are roughly 350,000,000 privately owned firearms in the United States. Creating a “national gun registry” will surely create at least 100,000 or so well paid democrat voting federal employees. I imagine it would be run much like the TSA, GSA and most other government entities. Piss poorly, expensively and over reaching.

Alert: Sen. Diane Feinstein releases gun ban summary for 2013
Here are the Senator’s words committing to a sweeping ban on guns.
    Summary of 2013 legislation

Following is a summary of the 2013 legislation:
Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
    120 specifically-named firearms
Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds
Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:
    Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.

    Background check of owner and any transferee;

    Type and serial number of the firearm;
    Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

In other words, a Constraint on the government will be turned around to be a Constraint on the people.

    What could go wrong?

The News Journal has published the names ot gun owners in NY, NJ, and CT who are legally practicing their 2nd amend rights. Here are the names of writers for the Journal who would live in the NYC-NJ suburbs-Long island area: LEE HIGGINS, GARY STERN, DWIGHT WORLEY HEMA EASLEY, SHAWN COHEN, TERRENCE
CORCORAN, ROB RYSER, and the last filed the most online stories on Newtown, CT.
Since they think gun owners should be harassed and bullied, maybe they should have the honor returned and maybe someone will discover one of them owns a gun or two.

Someone should publish their addresses too!

      • rennyangel2

I didn’t look for the addresses because I do not know their states or towns, but someone who is more clever might find them. Simple as that, friends. And please understand that I am hardly alone in these feelings.

    • reaper_69

If you comply with their new registry, to get you weapons ‘grandfathered’ in, you will be giving them all the information they need to have a police squad descend on your house in the dead of night and take you and you guns, one owner at a time, as they did in the UK!, You will be alone when a SWAT team of Obama gestapo comes calling! It’s hard to fight it out alone and they have the heavy weapons to destroy you and your family!

So do i.The cops who come are know better them me and any other American. They have the same rights and are just man like me.They will be greeted by just as much force as they bring when they come.We Americans seen this coming for a long time. We The People will not bow down to this tyranny. There is nothing in the 2nd Amendment about hunting, mag size, or anything these anti freedom progressive’s use to take away my rights. Its very clear if you understand history and original intent twhat our founders meant.Militia meant everyman, not what it does today. The 2nd Amendment was put in to protect yourself, your family and your republic. Then when if/or need be to protect yourself from an all powerfull big gov. Tyranny is now what we have in our Republic. We are so far from the freedom we once had. • Sam Sham

If anything like this were to become law it would engender the most widespread practice of civil disobedience in history. I for one will refuse to confirm or deny that I own a firearm. The second amendment uses the phrase “…the security of a free state…” A disarmed populace is anathema to a free state. Remember, when the people fear the government, there is tyranny, when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

  • Sam Sham

As someone quicker than I said: The same people who insist that we can locate and get rid of 300 million firearms have also insisted that we cannot locate and deport 15 million illegal aliens. Progressive logic, I guess.

    • JustLikeAnimals

Outstanding point! Let’s continue down this line of thinking.

      Illegal immigrants:

In Los Angeles, 95% of some 1,500 outstanding warrants for homicides are for illegal aliens. About 67% of the 17,000 outstanding fugitive felony warrants are for illegal aliens.

There are currently over 400,000 unaccounted for illegal alien criminals with outstanding deportation orders. At least one fourth of these are hard core criminals.

80,000 to 100,000 illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious crimes are walking the streets. Based on studies they will commit an average of 13 serious crimes per perpetrator.

Illegal aliens are involved in criminal activities at a rate that is 2-5 times their representative proportion of the population.

In 1980, our Federal and state facilities held fewer than 9,000 criminal aliens but at the end of 2003, approximately 267,000 illegal aliens were incarcerated in U.S. correctional facilities at a cost of about $6.8 billion per year.

At least 4.5 million pounds of cocaine with a street value of at least $72 billion is smuggled across the southern border every year. ..

56% of illegal aliens charged with a reentry offense had previously been convicted on at least 5 prior occasions.

Illegal aliens charged with unlawful reentry had the most extensive criminal histories. 90% had been previously arrested. Of those with a prior arrest, 50% had been arrested for violent or drug-related felonies.

Illegal aliens commit between 700,000 to 1,289,000 or more crimes per year.

Illegal aliens commit at least 2,158 murders each year – a number that represents three times greater participation than their proportion of the population.

Illegal alien sexual predators commit an estimated 130,909 sexual crimes each year.

There may be as many as 240,000 illegal alien sex offenders circulating throughout America. Based on studies, they will commit an average of 8 sex crimes per perpetrator before being caught.

Nearly 63% of illegal alien sex offenders had been deported on another offense prior to committing the sex crime.

Only 2% of the illegal alien sex offenders in one study had no history of criminal behavior, beyond crossing the border illegally.

In Operation Predator, ICE arrested and deported 6,085 illegal alien pedophiles. Some studies suggest each pedophile molests average of 148 children. If so, that could be as many as 900,580 victims.

Nobody knows how big the Sex Slave problem is but it is enormous.

The very brutal MS-13 gang has over 15,000 members and associates in at least 115 different cliques in 33 states.

The overall financial impact of illegal alien crimes is estimated at between $14.4 and $81 billion or more per year. Factor in the crime as a result of the cocaine and other drugs being smuggled in and the number may reach $150 billion per year.

    • lainer51

when those clowns in DC get involved, NOTHING gets done –
illegal aliens are here to stay (deportation a myth)
drugs are here to stay (war on drugs a joke)

alcohol is here to stay (prohibition was a total failure)

I guess Lawmakers will ignore the constitution and the Supreme court. Treasonous actions!

There are some issues here that need to be recognized. The hue and cry for a
so-called “assault weapons” (sic) ban is a holler in a hurricane.

    It can’t happen.

    Here’s why.

In 1994, the D.C. v. Heller and McDonald v. Chicago decisions didn’t exist.
There was no judicial barrier to passing one. Now, it is precedent that a) the
people have an individual fundamental right to keep and bear arms for lawful
purposes not dependent upon militia service, b) that holding has been
incorporated to the states, and c) Justice Scalia (in the Heller holding)
clarified what the U.S. v. Miller (1939) decision actually said.

Miller established a two-pronged test to define just what types of arms are
subject to Second Amendment protection. It held that small arms “in common
use” that “bear[s] some reasonable relationship to the preservation
or efficiency of a well-regulated militia” enjoy constitutional
protection. Semiautomatic rifles and pistols meet both prongs of this test,
hence they are proscribed from any government ban.

The Heller decision also addressed (and dismissed) the argument that the
Framers couldn’t have envisioned the capability of today’s modern weapons. Just
as the Internet has supplanted moveable type, so have semi-auto firearms
    supplanted muskets.

The principle involved in both of these rights is not constitutionally
affected by the evolution of the mechanisms to exercise them. Now, this may be
bad news to some, but it is pure celestial harmony to others.

And, it is the state of the law.

  • freeinaz

Democrats Seek the Holy Grail of Gun Control

Dianne Feinstein has announced that she will introduce sweeping gun control legislation in the Senate. Under her bill, countless standard handguns apparently would now be banned, and for the first time a federal register that may include many millions of gun owners, fingerprinted and photographed, would be created. This is how Feinstein describes her proposal on her web site:

Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:

    * Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic

    * Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds

    * Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:
    — Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test

*Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:

    — Background check of owner and any transferee;
    — Type and serial number of the firearm;
    — Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
    — Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
    — Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration

For the reasons noted, some clarification is required before we can understand the full scope of Feinstein’s proposal. It is hard to say, at this point, whether it is merely grandstanding by Feinstein that will soon be forgotten, or whether it represents the first shot in an all-out war against gun owners (i.e., red America) by the Democratic Party.

  • Jerry Adler

Since the proposed ban,new assault rifles have sold out and the used prices for them have doubled in a week. Thanks DF, no advertising could have sold more guns and made more money for gun owners.

  • TexasJew

History: think germany!

  • Libertyship46
