Where have we heard this before?
According to Politico/Morning Consult polling, President Donald Trump significantly trails Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden (both by double digits) and is also beaten by Elizabeth Warren in hypothetical 2020 matchups.
Trump fails to crack a third of the vote (even among lesser-known would-be Democratic opponents) in potential 2020 match-ups, a new poll shows https://t.co/vAyXhrwoUF pic.twitter.com/R14nSbBTA8

It’s important to point out that in each of these hypothetical matchups, at least a quarter of those surveyed responded that they don’t know who they will support, which hardly seems to be data from which definitive inferences can be made about hypothetical races two years from now.
But whatever.

To be clear, Trump could be in real trouble and may end up being beaten soundly by a Democrat in two years.
BUT, this smells a whole lot like the underestimation his support received in 2016, and it is very interesting that it comes out the day after the Cohen/Manafort news breaks.
