Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon did an interview with Axios in which he addressed his comments about the meeting between members of the Trump family and a Russian lawyer. In a new book, Bannon is quoted as saying the meeting was “treasonous” and “unpatriotic.”
In the Axios interview, Bannon gives the following quote:
“I regret that my delay in responding to the inaccurate reporting regarding Don Jr has diverted attention from the president’s historical accomplishments in the first year of his presidency.”
But, there seems to be a key piece of the apology missing from the Axios quote — an actual apology.
I do not see an apology in the statement Bannon gave to Axios. Do you? https://t.co/MyE3Vw52e4 pic.twitter.com/KWpdYdSukQ

Note: Steve Bannon’s ‘apology’ does not say the word ‘sorry’ at any point.

Seems important that an apology would contain the word “apologize” or “sorry” somewhere.
True. It wasn’t an apology. https://t.co/H88Ak5tgHO

Nope. Only the word 'regret '. Close, but not it. https://t.co/MzaJnDa8ni
