New York Times reporter Eric Lipton took a shot at Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz for denouncing the white supremacist attack in Charlottesville, Va. He alleges that the two of them were posturing for a 2020 presidential run.
Sorry to be cynical, but most of all Rubio and Ted Cruz to me seem mostly to be doing a tremendous job of posturing for 2020.

He’s basically saying that Cruz and Rubio agree with the Nazi/white supremacist sentiment but called it out in order to run in 2020.
Gosh why do conservatives think the NYT and media are against them? https://t.co/icoTPPGGpV

Here is Cruz’s response to the attack:
I urge the Department of Justice to immediately investigate and prosecute this grotesque act of domestic terrorism. pic.twitter.com/AwJLsfUEHl
— Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz) August 13, 2017
And here’s Rubio’s:
Nothing patriotic about #Nazis, the #KKK or #WhiteSupremacists It's the direct opposite of what #America seeks to be. #Charlotesville
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) August 12, 2017
These haters in #Charlotesville are agitators in search of relevance & publicity for a vile cause very few people support 1/2
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) August 12, 2017
Can't ignore them, but also don't give them relevance they crave.Only way they win is if they can turn the rest of us against each other 2/2
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) August 12, 2017
Very important for the nation to hear @potus describe events in #Charlottesville for what they are, a terror attack by #whitesupremacists
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) August 12, 2017
According to the New York Times, that is some tremendous “posturing” for 2020.
Conservatives who do the right thing still criticized by NYT reporter. This is why conservatives distrust big media:https://t.co/iZkGBOwHts

Exactly. The media always seem eager to throw away their sensibility (assuming they have any) to attack conservatives.

The most important thing for a New York Times dude to do in any situation is to affirm that he is a vapid jerkwad. Noted. https://t.co/J7z8wrnmSb
