Awful: Milwaukee Police officer shot while sitting in patrol car

A day that has already been tragic enough for law enforcement officials has gotten worse. A Milwaukee Police officer was shot while sitting in a patrol vehicle.

Here is the most gut-wrenching part of the report:

“Around 2:00 a.m., a MPD Officer was seated in a squad car in the area conducting the investigation when a suspect approached on foot and fired a gun several times into the squad, striking the officer several times.”

Being a law enforcer today is dangerous and increasingly deadly work. We owe each one so much gratitude.
