In a statement that was clearly trying to turn a tragedy into an argument for gun control, Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, referred to the shooting in Orlando as a “public health crisis.” Check this out:

Really, Sen. Blumenthal? Since when is radical Islamic terrorism a public health crisis?

Oh and don’t try to express sympathy for the victims because the good senator reiterated on Twitter that your “prayers and platitudes” are insufficient.
Prayers & platitudes are insufficient. The public is beseeching us to act on commonsense #GunViolencePrevention—we must heed that call.

A classless reaction to a horrible event.
