Professor Joesph Mifsud, one of the central figures to the entire Russia probe, reportedly hid in a safe house connected to the university he was working at in Rome for 7 months after he went missing in November 2017:

George Papadopoulos has long argued that Mifsud set him up, so maybe we’ll soon get some answers on all of this:
Mueller report coming out Thursday, April 18. On that date in 2016, Professor Mifsud fatefully introduced Papadopoulos to a Russian academic who worked for a Kremlin-funded think tank, per court filings. Papadopoulos tried to use those ties to broker a Trump-Putin meeting.

I know that’s your view. Court filings only say Mifsud has “substantial connections to Russian government officials.” Perhaps there will be clarity in the Mueller report. At your sentencing, your lawyer said this about Mifsud: “my opinion is he was playing on behalf of Russia.”
