In her annual speech to parliament, Queen Elizabeth II left out any mention of President Donald Trump and his planned state visit to the UK. Now, this might seem like a big nothingburger, but “no matter how silly the idea of having a queen might be to us,” the omission is making headlines over in the British press:

The Queen did mention an upcoming visit from the King and Queen of Spain, however:

However, a government spokesman said the reason the visit was omitted was because a date has not yet been set:
