Wow, even we’re amazed at how fast the race card got played on this one.
Earlier this morning — at 3:40 a.m. to be exact — the Washington Post’s Dave Weigel posted this photo of his TV, joking that MSNBC contributor Anand Giridharadas looked like a character on the 1997 sci-fi film, “The Fifth Element“:

LOL.
Giridharadas, however, wasn’t amused and accused Weigel of racism:

Then Giridharadas told on Weigel to his boss, Marty Baron, executive editor of the Post:

Oh, it’s on. Weigel then asked for an apology of his own and accused the gravity-defying-coiffed Giridharadas of libel:
It was a joke about your hair; I was thinking of the (human) Gary Oldman character. Dumb tweet at end of long day. https://t.co/XjGuzJHHsb

Which led to this charge of “white privilege,” because of course it does:

As for Weigel, his biggest sin might be that he used the wrong movie reference:
tbh should have said "Syndrome from the Incredibles" but I was crashing in a hotel after a long flight delay. https://t.co/byOqjPt1dp

Nailed it!
Although “Heat Miser” works, too:
