As we told you earlier, CNN seems to be taking the position as a network that the Susan Rice/unmasking story is just fake news being spun by Republicans.
Here are two more examples…
On Monday night, Don Lemon declared, we will not “aid and abet the people trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion. Not going to do it.”

“And last week, it was a debunked talking point that former Obama Administration official Evelyn Farkas admitted spying on the Trump team. She did no such thing. The week before that, it was Representative Devin Nunes’ clumsy effort to give the President cover for the wiretapping claim. The President said he was vindicated by Nunes. He was not. The ‘Washington Post’ today calls the latest claims about Susan rice an anatomy of a fake scandal, ginned up by right-wing media and Trump. So let’s be very clear about this. There is no evidence whatsoever that the Trump team was spied on illegally. There is no evidence that backs up the President’s original claim. On this program tonight, we will not insult your intelligence by pretending otherwise, nor will we aid and abet the people trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion. Not going to do it.”

That’s not how it works, Don:
Plausible that Russia-Trump ties and politicized unmasking of surveilled *both* big stories. Not an either/or situation. https://t.co/TqCKrxSnXb

And then this morning over on CNN, reporter Jim Sciutto continued with his spin that Rice didn’t lie when asked about unmasking in March because she didn’t know exactly what unmasking Rep. Nunes was referring to:

SCIUTTO: “I don’t know. I do know this, because I asked that question of people close to her yesterday. From her perspective she didn’t know what specific unmasking Devin Nunes and others are talking about, in part because that is something she asks — or asked during the regular course of her work as national security adviser. She asked to unmask names in multiple intelligence reports, some related to Russia and some not. To be clear, remember, Devin Nunes when he first came out with this didn’t say specifically Russia but others as well. I noted this earlier in the broadcast, when you do ask these questions they are meticulously logged by law. You can’t do it in secret. There’s a paper trail of it. We don’t know what the explanation is for her comment there, but I do know from speaking to people yesterday close to her that she doesn’t know specifically what Devin Nunes and others are accusing her of when it comes to unmasking because that was something sets in the regular course of her job.”
“Lame” is an understatment:
That's a pretty lame defense. https://t.co/vgzJEjpjyq
