Marc Lamont Hill calls Trump's 'Diversity Coalition' a collection of 'mediocre Negroes'

Oh boy.

Marc Lamont Hill was on CNN Monday night when the subject of Steve Harvey came up. Hill first criticized Trump for surrounding himself with African-American athletes and entertainers and then dropped his bombshell, accusing Trump’s “Diversity Coalition” of being filled with “mediocre Negroes … dragged in front of TV as a photo-op.” From Mediaite:

“You weren’t even there…” responded Bruce LeVell, a member of Trump’s diversity team. “Pastor Darryl Scott, Mike Cohen, they are in the process of bringing all types of people from all over the country, from all different backgrounds. Remember the diversity coalition where we reached out to all different types of people?”

“Yeah, it was a bunch of mediocre Negroes being dragged in front of TV as a photo-op for Donald Trump’s exploitative campaign against black people. And you are an example of that,” Hill shot back.

So, these are the mediocre Negroes Hill speaks of?

Hill later posted on Twitter that those weren’t the folks he was referring to:

And Dr. Ben Carson is somehow both mediocre and extraordinary:

Exit question: What about Martin Luther King III?
