Donald Trump confirmed via Twitter on Tuesday that he will be traveling to Mexico today to meet with President Peña Nieto:
I have accepted the invitation of President Enrique Pena Nieto, of Mexico, and look very much forward to meeting him tomorrow.

But he’s reportedly leaving a lot of baggage behind:
Trump is heading to Mexico tomorrow. His traveling press corps? Directed to Phoenix.

Trump at moment is not planning to bring US media with him on trip. Anyone remember another nominee doing foreign trip w no press corps?

President Nieto defended the meeting, saying dialogue is important and that he wants to protect Mexicans wherever they are:
Creo en el diálogo para promover los intereses de México en el mundo y, principalmente, para proteger a los mexicanos donde quiera que estén

Maybe Trump is leaving the press at home because the visit will be a hot mess? #TrumpNoEresBienvenido — translated as “Trump is not welcome” — was trending earlier:

Como te atreves a invitar a @realDonaldTrump a mi casa @epn? You are not welcome in Mexico and you will never be. #TrumpNoEresBienvenido

President Nieto had invited both candidates to come to Mexico last week:
So, when is @HillaryClinton going to meet with Mexico president @EPN?

After Mexico, Trump heads to Phoenix to give his long awaited speech on immigration:
From day one I said that I was going to build a great wall on the SOUTHERN BORDER, and much more. Stop illegal immigration. Watch Wednesday!
