If their demands are not met, the NYT newsroom has threatened to walk out next week … for a day.
New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger and CEO Meredith Kopit Levien received a letter from Bill Baker, unit chair of the Times guild, that was signed by more than 1,000 employees. Subject line: ‘Enough. If there is no contract by Dec. 8, we are walking out.’
While we’re sure this is a challenge for the folks at the New York Times, Twitter users care about as much as you’d might expect, as long as you expected them not to care at all.

Without the NYT newsroom, we won’t have anyone to write anemic eulogies for dead terrorists.
Good

Good, indeed.
This would make it a perfect December – all the twits leave Twitter, CNN fired employees, and NYT reporters go on Strike.
Please please please Santa can I have this for Christmas 🎀🎁🎄— benefieldforga (@benefieldforga) December 3, 2022
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
And nobody would notice.

All of the people waiting for the NYT newsroom to report on the Biden campaign and Twitter colluding to spike the Hunter Biden laptop story will be … still waiting.
There is not one single article about @elonmusk or the @twitter email release last night on @nytimes app this morning.

Looks like the NYT newsroom has already left.
Is there a downside to this?

Less left wing journo fodder for Twitchy? Never mind. We’ll be fine.
"Let's have a walk-out when all of these other legacy media outlets are having layoffs!"
This is the sort of brilliance I expect from the current batch of NYT journalists…

Genius! LOL.

Yes, unless they’re willing to go away for longer.

Ouch. The truth hurts.

… figuratively speaking.
This could not be more timely and important. The Washington Post newsroom must walk off the job in solidarity. To victory! https://t.co/bNrxnvKKB2
— Omri Ceren (@omriceren) December 2, 2022
Right?! Can we get a CNN or NPR?
That's not a threat. https://t.co/n5kXKrJ2UF

They seem to have overestimated their importance.
