The NYT is unable to form a judgment of its own about this very complicated factual dispute https://t.co/vg7zU2Cp5a

Yesterday, Stephen Gutowski of the Washington Free Beacon exposed how deceptive editing was used in the Katie Couric special “Under the Gun.” An edit occurred during Couric’s interview with pro-gun rights individuals which gave the impression they were stumped by one of Couric’s questions, which in fact was not the case.
After the editing was exposed, the director of “Under the Gun” said she “never intended to make anyone look bad and I apologize if anyone felt that way.” With that, both sides at least seem to agree that a major edit was made that altered the context of what actually happened, but the New York Times remains cautious:

Really, NYT?
Claim seemed to be validated when @EpixHD, @katiecouric and the director vehemently defended the editing. @nytimes https://t.co/2XjV4gqq61
