The House Energy and Commerce Committee has put out a report on the number of Obamacare enrollees who have paid their first month’s premiums:

67 percent? Oh my.

White House Obamacare flack Tara McGuinness attempted to debunk the GOP claim and even called for a “fact check” of the report:

An outside fact checker? You’d think if there’s a person who could find and provide the actual data, it would be @HealthCareTara:

We can’t wait to hear the spin at tomorrow’s White House presser:

Snort!

  • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Seriously, instead of attacking Republicans why doesn’t the White House release the numbers and prove that everything is going great? They apparently had enough data to say they reached their goal, so why are they unable to prove that all of the enrollees are actually paying their premiums?

The White House and their lackeys attacking Republicans instead of showing the data is proof enough that Obamacare isn’t going as hot as they want the public to believe.

    • waltermitty2012

With an election in November, how much bad news do you think the administration wants to release? Rates are expected to increase by double digits next year and few are claiming they are actually saving money.

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

And the people will get their rate increase notices just in time for the elections, too.

    • Al’s Annoyed Grandpa

The White House knows that the numbers are accurate. It also knows that the media will defend this Administration without making an effort to fact check the garbage this Administration spews.

When it has support of the vast majority of the media, why wouldn’t the White House attack the GOP?

But they “know” Republicans are lying.

I like how the people who pushed the Obamacare lies for years are demanding a fact check about Obamacare.

It’s like they are too stupid to see the irony of it

I don’t think the room’s going to stop spinning because the Dems have quite a lot more spin to get out of their systems before the midterm elections.

What this all means is that Donald Sterling will be headlining the news for the rest of the week. Benghazi coordination from the WH never happened and Kerry never called Israel an apartheid state, also our economy had a successful 1st qtr despite George “winter weather” Bush’s best racist attempts at hurting obama. Putin is shaking in his boots.

I don’t know where Tara’s coming from here. You can download the list of plans in the federal Marketplace directly from healthcare.gov: https://www.healthcare.gov/health-plan-information/ . It’s a big spreadsheet with about 80000 plans, but there are only about 150 distinct insurers… consistent with the E&C summary data. Maybe she’s confused about the fact that they didn’t look at the states running their own exchanges? Who knows. She’s wrong, anyway.

    • Roto ✓Intentionally Left Blank

And with at least Maryland and Oregon’s exchanges never working in the first place, that 67% is going to go up, not down.

She’s another graduate of the Obama College of Mathematics — “Circum Sursum Perplexus!!” (Round UP when in doubt!! :-)

  • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

67% of the time, Obamacare works every time.

  • Maxx

They just want it all to go away don’t they? Passed it without reading it, more problems than a submarine with screen doors but never you mind…it’s the law and just “deal with it.”

This is the kind of governance you get with Democrats. Instead of admitting the overreach, they want to jam that s**t sandwich down the throats of America.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

They jam the sandwich down our throats while exempting themselves from it.

    • MemorialDime

If they can’t handle the pressure, they can always resign and let somebody else handle it. They’re really good at that!

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Speaking of Hillary Clinton, I wonder what her spin for Obamacare will be in 2016 after the Employer Mandate kicks in?

“…[H]ow’d they get 67% of enrollees when their survey has 1/2 of the insurers in the FFM…”

Would someone PLEASE inform this innumerate imbecile that it is VERY possible that you could have two-thirds of enrollees in one-half of the plans? Some plans would have more enrollees than others? Her tweet is what’s called a “non-sequitur.” No logic to what this woman said, yet she’s the Administration’s spokesperson on this?

But what the hell am I talking about? Jay Carney, all the rest of that unholy rabble– no logic to most of what THEY say, either, but that hasn’t stopped them yet.

Yet Gallup can poll 2000 people and get an accurate read of the whole country but taking results of half the providers isn’t accurate enough. *smh*

  • sb36695

I tried the bronze plan for 2 months. After denied charges, I cancelled. Buyer beware.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

That’s because Republicans didn’t support it enough, not because the law is a joke! – liberal logic

      • MemorialDime

So if Republicans support something, it works?

Even in their own twisted logic, they know we’re right. 😉

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I love when libs blame Obamacare’s problems on Republicans not being supportive enough. They let their desperation shine through.

        • nc ✓s & balances

          Zing!!!!

      • sb36695

I have been dealing with this for months. I must have been the FIRST policy cancelled! I have temporary insurance not governed by Obamacare, and I’m looking into a “legal” Christian sharing ministry. First they came for me, you’re next!

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I got denied Medicaid and couldn’t afford the premiums for the policy I was going to have to get. So yeah, they’ll be coming for me to collect the fine.

          • sb36695

This is what I have found:
            chministries.org
            libertyhealthshare.org
            mychristiancare.org
            samaritanministries.org

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I’ll take a look at those, but I’m still going to get hit with the fine since it’s after the enrollment period.

          • sb36695

Good luck. Since my policy was cancelled, I got an exemption! lol I have to laugh to keep from crying!

        • nc ✓s & balances

We’re making jokes here, but I sincerely wish you luck. You have a sucky situation.

          • MemorialDime

Ditto. It’ll only get worse from here.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

All jokes aside, yeah, it’s getting pretty bad for a lot of people. Hope it works out for sb

          • sb36695

Thanks! It could be worse. I cannot even imagine going through this while sick.

    • nc ✓s & balances

You are the perfect example of why that 67% number (if it’s even that high) will only be going down, down, down with each passing month.

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

And why for those who manage to keep their policies will see their premiums go up, up, up, up, and up so they can keep subsidizing others.

        • nc ✓s & balances

          The “Death Spiral.”

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

As things get worse for Obamacare, just expect the left’s desperation to get even worse.

          • MemorialDime

I would expect letters in the mail telling previously uninsured people they’re insured, purely for the numbers.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Then when that story is picked up by the media, the Dems will be running around trying to find a way to spin the story in their favor.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I guess the bronze plan is a “Junk Plan.”

That’s what the left said to justify the cancellations brought on by Obamacare, so I guess “Junk Plan” fits pretty nicely here.

      • sb36695

They called my cancelled plan “junk”. It was half the premium AND deductible. Obamacare is catastrophic insurance at cadillac rates.

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

The whole thing is a joke, but the eager liberal lemmings are wanting their freebies. So they don’t care how others are affected by this crap.

          • sb36695

It will suck for everyone, but I can’t get them to understand or they don’t care. Health insurance is not health care.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Trying to explain the difference between health insurance and healthcare to a liberal is a waste of time. I’ve watched multiple people on this site try to explain it to the libs who come here, but they’d have better luck explaining it to a wall.

          • sb36695

            True. Liberals lack logic! lol

  • Mary Mommy Happy 2016!

It’s been nearly a month since the open enrollment period for President Obama’s health care law officially ended, but the Department of Health and Human Services still hasn’t released comprehensive enrollment data.

The Obama administration has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep basic details about enrollment and how many have pay premiums of the healthcare law from the public. While also insisting they just don’t have that information at the moment

They have the paid enrollment data, but don’t want to show it, because the numbers aren’t good and it would hurt Democrats and Obama politically if the data was release.

    • Roto ✓Intentionally Left Blank

Tomorrow’s the 1st — let’s see what numbers they round UP and release to the press at 8 AM sharp this time. :-)

  • LinTaylor ✓vitrified

You know, for all the snark and insults Democrats fire off at Christians, they sure do take a faith-based approach to Obamacare. “No, you can’t see any hard data, just believe us when we tell you that it’s performing beyond expectations!”

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

It’s because Obama is their Messiah.

  • WhoDat

You wouldn’t believe the numbers if they released them anyway.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

What a childish comment. Their refusal to release the numbers is an admission that this report is closer to the mark than anything the White House has claimed

      • WhoDat

Their refusal to do something is an admission of something?

        • MemorialDime

Why DON’T they release them? They’ve got nothing to lose if (and that’s a very big if) the numbers are in their favor.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

if the GOP report is wrong, releasing the numbers will prove it.

But since they refuse to release the numbers, I guess we’ll never know for sure.

          • WhoDat

You wouldn’t accept their numbers as proof.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

And you won’t accept their refusal to release the numbers as proof that things are going bad.

          • WhoDat

You don’t want the law anyway, so what do you care how it works?

You must be pissed some of the repeal and replace people are talking about reform.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Actually, I do care how it works, because it affects all of us.

And it must piss you off that more and more Americans are turning on this crap. It must also hurt that Messiah refuses to prove that it’s working great, because deep down you know it’s a joke.

          • WhoDat

You don’t expect anything coming out of this administration to be truthful.

I’m supposed to believe you’d believe their numbers?

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

What has this administration done to prove they deserve to be trusted with the truth? Tell me. Obama won “Lie of the Year” over Obamacare. And you trust them? Obama has proven time and time again that he’s nothing but a liar. Why would you take anything they have to say as truth?

And you’e proven Messiah is the only person you’ll believe.

          • WhoDat

            You’ve just proven my point.

No matter what they release, it’d be a lie in your eyes.

          • grais

The fact is, however, that if they were happy with the numbers, they’d release them.

          • Michael Rice

Except they haven’t released anything. This report has and yet you continue to disbelieve it. Hmmm

          • lainer51

Could that possibly be due to the fact that all they do is lie?

          • MemorialDime

Given their track record for honesty, I would be blown away if they decided to release even semi-accurate data.

          • grais

Do you expect them to be truthful?
If so, on wtf could you possibly base that expectation?

          • Michael Rice

            What numbers.?

          • J_W_C_NM

It’s a bad and unnecessary law. 4 years ago the complaint was that 40 million (or whatever the made up number was) was uninsured. Today 40 million are still uninsured. The law accomplished nothing.

          • MemorialDime

And ate up enormous amounts of money doing so.

          • WhoDat

            Give it time.

          • grais

            Lotta folks don’t have time.
            Or money.
Oh, well, maybe they’ll die or go bankrupt “quickly.”

          • mike_in_kosovo

They’ve already delayed implementation of various parts for *years* – how much *MORE* time do you think they should get?

          • Michael Rice

Are you asking for another “deadline”?

          • Michael Rice

            And another…

          • QueenB

Because at least if it were working, it wouldn’t be a complete waste of money. As it stands, we are around net zero as far as people now covered with all the cancellations that happened and all we have to show for it is a crappy website and an additional $3 trillion or so of debt.

          • grais

Well, really, how in the world can Anybody believe Anything this administration says about Obamacare? The truth IS NOT IN THEM.

          • SWMichMan

That’s only because they lie about everything else, so we would assume they are lying about the O-care numbers too.

          • WhoDat

They should release them. My point is, however, if they really are higher than this 2/3 number, the same people demanding them would say they’re cooked or a lie.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

It’s easy to prove it. But they won’t prove it, because they know that the House Report has them by the nuts

        • lainer51

want some cheese with that whine?

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Yes it is. Because they’ve made claims about how well things are going, and their refusal to release the numbers is their way of admitting things are going bad. And with Obama’s spiking the football when things go his way, if the numbers were good he’d be on tv boasting.

Plus, why else would they have put out the reminders to “Pay your Premiums” if they didn’t have people not paying.

        • Humanary Stew

You mean like the Benghazi documents that were just released? You know, the ones they refused to release before? Even though by law, they are required to. Thanks for playing but you don’t even get a consolation prize.

    • MemorialDime

She could release them, but is refusing to.

Don’t take it from me, but if the person with the resources to release the information at hand, chooses instead to call the numbers fake and doesn’t back up their statement, it doesn’t seem like the numbers they would choose to release now wouldn’t seem to be very truthful.

    • Tyrconnell

I know, it’s like (if you like your plan, you can keep your plan, period.) for some odd (Fast and Furious was a Bush era operation) reason people ( The attack in Benghazi was the result of an American abusing his right of free speech) just don’t seem to trust this administration. It is a puzzlement.

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I know, right? It’s not like Barack Obama and his administration has ever done anything that would make people question their honesty. /sarc

And you forgot (there isn’t a smidgen of corruption in the IRS, now just ignore Lois Lerner pleading the 5th TWICE)

        • Onyx

You’re right, the only reason anyone pleads the 5th is because they’re guilty. (Gosh, why did the founders put that one in??)

So you’re saying you believe Messiah that everything is fine because he said so?

Of course not, because you have nothing to add. But keep deflecting! It’s not like that hasn’t gotten so very tired …

Bad week to be a liberal.

IRS emails starting to get closer to the WH

    Benghazi coverup is unraveling

John Kerry is a Jew hater

    Obamacare is …well ..still Obamacare

GDP got mugged by old (white) man winter

    Dems have abandoned Wendy Davis

Lois Lerner will be in contempt of congress soon. How long will she continue to cover for the WH while in custody?

7 months until Election Day when Harry Reid gets fired and Obama impeachment talk gets serious.

  • Linda

People have until May 20 to pay; the committee report is for just a little over half of the federal marketplace insurers; the report is for the federal marketplace so it doesn’t include the state ones. Even the chairman of the committee said that the WH claim of success MAY be unfounded.

The committee has invited insurance companies to speak next week about their numbers; many have reported 80-90% have paid. So, I’d suggest holding back on any hard and fast conclusions until full data is available. The number could be better or worse.

  • Matt

“Well, we tried. Now we have to go to single payer system.” You know that is coming soon.

    • Acethepug

That, and control of people’s lives, was always the plan.

The problem for the Lying Left is, this was SUCH a tremendous fustercluck that I don’t even know if the die-hards will support single payer now.

Obama has demonstrated himself to be at best abysmally stupid and intellectually incurious, and at worst a partisan lying shill.

Would you allow him even more money after pissing billions away and only insuring, at BEST, three percent of people (net) who had no insurance?

I know YOU wouldn’t, but I think even some of the diehards are shifting uncomfortably in their seats right about now.

  • Jay Stevens

I agree with HCTara. That 67% figure is a lie. It is worse.
