We’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about reparation recently, but none of it from the Biden White House. San Francisco’s reparations task force suggested $5 million for every black resident of the city, along with “the elimination of personal debt and tax burdens, guaranteed annual incomes of at least $97,000 for 250 years, and homes in San Francisco for just $1 a family.” Not only do you get $5 million in cash, but your credit card debt is eliminated.
The State of California has set the price tag a little higher, at $200 million for every black person.
Rep. Cori Bush is talking about reparations Wednesday, and she feels it will take $14 trillion to cover the entire country.
Slavery.
Black codes.
Jim Crow.
Redlining.
Mass incarceration.Every step of the way, Black Americans have been intentionally pushed back economically. A debt is owed.

The Daily Mail reports:
The resolution states that the U.S. has a ‘legal and moral’ obligation to provide reparations for the enslavement of black people and calls for $14 trillion to be paid – ‘at least the amount of the black white wealth gap,’ Bush told DailyMail.com during a press conference.
The entire U.S. GDP was $25 trillion in 2022. The U.S. is already $31.4 trillion in debt and lawmakers are currently engaged in tedious negotiations over where to cut the budget so they can raise the debt limit.
The $14 trillion figure is in line with the findings of Duke University professor and economist William ‘Sandy’ Darity, who estimates the wealth gap is in excess of $300,000 per person and there are roughly 40 million black people whose ancestors were enslaved in the U.S.
Asked about the funding source of such a program, Bush suggested the nation reduce its spending abroad and on defense.

It’s at least interesting the “studies” they use to come up with these numbers. If you’re black and live in San Francisco, you’ll get federal reparations, $200 million from the state, and $5 million from the city plus a $1 house and a guaranteed income.
