Congressman reveals that Fox News told Republicans to hate Ukraine, so they do

On Wednesday night, we did a post on a thread by Rep. Thomas Massie asking why funding for Ukraine was hidden in a bill that averts the shutdown of the government. It wasn’t much — just another $47 billion on top of what we’ve already sent.

The talking points have gone out, and they’re that the Republicans are pro-Putin. They’re anti-democracy here at home, so obviously they don’t support a democracy like Ukraine. We can’t tell you how many tweets there were last night counting the number of Republicans who showed up for Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s address to Congress.

It shouldn’t have to be said, but we’ll say it again: Republicans back the Ukrainian people, but they’d just like an accounting of the $100+ billion that’s already been sent. “Americans are growing very weary of funding this war,” Massie said, reminding us of all of the people back in February and March saying they’d happily pay $10 for a gallon of gas if it would help Ukraine.

Rep. Steven Woodrow has it all figured out: Fox News, which is pro-Putin, has told Republican viewers to hate Ukraine, so they do.

For real — as we reported earlier, NBC News presidential historian Michael Beschloss is demanding to know exactly why Republicans didn’t applaud Zelenskyy. He wants an audit of Republicans.
