Randi Weingarten needs 'folks across the aisle' to help with politicization of the COVID-19 vaccine

We’ve seen a few polls come across our feeds, and the consensus seems to be that white Republican men are the most hesitant to get vaccinated against COVID-19. On CNN, Jake Tapper called on Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to reach out to white evangelical Christians who might be wary of the vaccine and tell them the vaccine might be part of God’s plan.

We missed this tweet over the weekend, but American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten weighed in and made it abundantly clear that the union sees Republicans as the “folks across the aisle.” And she’s afraid that the vaccine has been politicized, encouraging people to deny science and logic — like the science that teachers who’ve been vaccinated should be in the classrooms with their students. Even the CDC and Dr. Anthony Fauci agree on that.

She really did just come right out and say it.

Good point — several states moved teachers to the front of the line in front of the elderly for vaccinations because they were considered essential workers, and yet they still won’t go back to the classroom … so does the vaccine work or not?

Again, she admits that Republicans are across the aisle from the union, and apparently thinks the science says it’s not safe to return to the classroom, even with the vaccine, double masks, social distancing, and plexiglass barriers on each desk.
