Embarrassing: Only one candidate lost votes in first Michigan county to complete recount; Guess who?

It’s been just short of a month since Election Day, but Dr. Jill Stein of the Green Party is determined to see full recounts in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and she’s not giving up the fight, even if her stated reasons for fighting keep shifting about.

As Twitchy reported, the Michigan Court of Appeals effectively killed her recount effort in that state when it ruled Stein does not qualify as an aggrieved candidate and is not therefore entitled to a recount of the votes.

According to the judge, a recount would require some evidence of fraud and not just “speculative fear” of tampering.

A recount had already started, though, and the Detroit News reports that although Hillary Clinton gained 138 votes in Ingham County, the first to complete its recount, the numbers certainly didn’t suggest a full state recount would put her over the top. Trump gained 73 votes, and Gary Johnson added two. Only one candidate actually lost ground.

Nice. Stein’s tireless push for election integrity cost her two votes, leaving her an even bigger loser than she was before.
