You know, we can always count on Moms Demand founder Shannon Watts to jump on any tragedy involving guns as quickly as possible, just bypassing the whole human reaction of, “Oh, I hope everyone’s all right,” or “Dear God, please be with these poor people,” and cutting right to the gun control talking points.
As Twitchy reported, there was a fatal shooting at a synagogue in Poway, Calif., and the sheriff noted that “an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent who was in the synagogue at the time of the shooting opened fire on the suspect, missing the man but striking his vehicle.”
We don’t know if those bullets were what prompted the suspect to surrender to authorities, but President Trump sent out a tweet thanking the Border Patrol agent.
Sincerest THANK YOU to our great Border Patrol Agent who stopped the shooter at the Synagogue in Poway, California. He may have been off duty but his talents for Law Enforcement weren’t!

Outstanding work by one of our own. His preparedness, training, and actions likely saved many lives. #BorderPatrol #HonorFirst https://t.co/AR1SctNfH9

He did likely save many lives, but ackshually … the guy was highly trained and still didn’t hit the perp, just his getaway vehicle.
Actually, the Poway shooting underscores the unlikelihood of average civilians stopping shooters – a highly trained and armed Border Patrol Agent missed the shooter and instead hit his vehicle. This was AFTER the gunman fatally shot one victim, and injured several others. https://t.co/tGz4gqeIlr

Actually, he might not have stopped the shooter initially, but he likely stopped the attack long before it would have ended were no one with a gun at the synagogue.
Oh, and she had to attack Dana Loesch somehow …
It appears an armed off-duty Border Patrol agent inside the synagogue may have played a significant role in saving lives. Several reports have noted that the synagogue members fought back, but this gives a clearer indication of what that means.https://t.co/K0kwnW46Fu

.@DLoesch rt’d this because she wants us to believe “only a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun.” A trained border patrol agent – not an average civilian – missed the shooter and shot his car. The issue in Poway is not who shot back, but how a 19-year-old got an AR-15. https://t.co/yo8aOv0iXE

he shot and missed? wtf are you claiming? how about some sympathies for the jewish faithful? dumb ass.#realDonaldTrump

It's not a binary choice. It's whether you want to have zero defense, or a chance of defense. Nothing is guaranteed but if you have a weapon at least you have a chance.

The entire synagogue would have been massacred Christchurch-style had that shooter not received returning fire from the Border Patrol Agent. But go off I guess.

. @shannonrwatts exclude the highly trained millions of veterans, there are countless millions of sporting enthusiasts who practice much more than your average enforcement personnel. Your underscore misses the mark and you have no idea of the exact circumstances. Pure speculation https://t.co/k6Rxw3a5ur

Further analysis needed:
Why was the shooter retreating to his vehicle after only hurting a few people?
Was it possibly because he met with resistance?
Were those shots that hit his vehicle so well aimed that they disabled the vehicle and prevented him from escaping?

They were so lucky this man was in attendance this morning. So many more people would have died. In Trump’s America we all need professional shooters nearby to keep us from being one of many fatalities.

That's one of the most stupid tweets I've read.

Ummm probably not the best idea to smear a hero https://t.co/Mfde53fDQ8
— Friedman Acolyte (@FreeConsumerism) April 28, 2019
And your point is? It would appear that an armed person has increased his odds of stopping a murder https://t.co/QpY7tvl5q6

Can’t let that “good guy with a gun” narrative get started spreading around.
