As Twitchy reported earlier Saturday, reporters on the Kamala Harris 2020 campaign beat were more than a little excited to be shopping with Harris, to the point where one CNN reporter tweeted, “We kind of forced @kamalaharris to try on this awesome oversized rainbow sequin jacket.” There were even more exciting tweets when Harris purchased the jacket.
Anyhow, it looks like a good time was had by all:
.@KamalaHarris loving that she can campaign for president *and* shop at this boutique in Columbia, SC. #scprimary pic.twitter.com/GXXUgG1n04

Oh, yes, she is so multi-talented. https://t.co/C6z8iqm4Ka

Brit Hume was not impressed, tweeting, “This is just embarrassing.” That compelled CBS News’ Caitlin Huey-Burns to respond:
She also did two gaggles with reporters, where we asked her a variety of policy questions on immigration, the green new deal, and executive power. @brithume https://t.co/FOyjRIO4KA

Um, maybe you’d like to tell us more about her stand on the Green New Deal and spare the giddy tweets about shopping, then?
But wait, there more! So much more to the story!
And the boutiques @KamalaHarris visited today were owned by women who faced serious hardships growing up and see entrepreneurship as a way out and up. This particular shop is also a non profit that helps disadvantaged people dress for success.

The owner here has a wonderful story about how she came to open this thrift store. “You don’t have to look like what you’ve been through,” she tells Harris about her store, as they talk here about her struggle thru homelessness & her journey as a small business owner. #scprimary

Oh, so it’s like Harris is trying to one-up Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who told Charlie Kirk back in September to “get used to me slaying lewks because I am an excellent thrift shopper.”
Ocasio-Cortez gets her slaying lewks from thrift shops, sure, but Harris bought a jacket from a boutique that helps disadvantaged women dress for success. That’s super-woke.
Speaking of serious hardships, can you believe people say you're a @KamalaHarris campaign volunteer just because you notice how awesome she is?
— Anthony Bialy (@AnthonyBialy) February 16, 2019
Her people just now told you this.
— Orlando Maltravers (@RobertKYarbro) February 16, 2019
Caitlyn, are you going to report on her answers to your questions?
— Thomas (@Tom_Nolan_) February 16, 2019
How does Kamala take her mimosa, Cait?
— Indy Sammons (@IndySammons) February 16, 2019
That's all good. No one i complaining that she visited women or that reporters are on her beat, merely the ACTIVE CHEERLEADING of journos for a candidate they're covering.
— A.B. Sak (@ABSaks) February 16, 2019
Should you put a campaign disclosure on this cringeworthy tweet?
— Ben Lentine (@realBenLentine) February 16, 2019
Hi, Ali. Did you happen to ask Kamala about her criminal justice record or civil asset forfeiture while you guys were shopping?
— Will Campbell (@WILLionaire317) February 16, 2019
This is a great example of unbiased and neutral journalism.
— Nathan Hendrickson (@adminnathan) February 16, 2019
You should be embarrassed, but I doubt you are.
— Mmmmmark (@MarkWorosz) February 16, 2019
I cannot believe that there were three of you Dem advocates masquerading as "journalists". Seriously, do you think this stereotypical female nonsense helps @SenKamalaHarris be taken seriously? ??
— Judith Lankau (@judith_lankau) February 16, 2019
I’m loving that you keep putting stories like this out there to further demolish the media’s credibility and reputation. #fakenews
— Anne (@anne_lh3) February 16, 2019
LOL "Roadwarrioring"
How can you possibly call yourself a serious journalist?
— SciFiStereo (@SciFiStereo) February 16, 2019
So you’re saying that Kamala shops at thrift stores? Oh she’s so much more relatable now? #FakeNews
— Color Me Red (@SonFollower87) February 16, 2019
Next, cover #HeelsUpHarris when she visits the Dollar Store. #FakeNews

This is ridiculous. Embarrassing actually.
— SouthernBelle ❤ (@KSBOEN1) February 16, 2019
This fangirling is pathetic.
— RocknRollMom6 (@RockNRollMom6) February 16, 2019
But, the shop is a non-profit that helps struggling women! That makes it newsworthy, right?
