ESPN hasn’t denied the story yet, and if the network eventually bothers to, we’ll finally be convinced that it’s true. (Update: They’ve confirmed it? Wow.)
Clay Travis of Outkick the Coverage reported Tuesday afternoon that MSESPN pulled a football announcer named Robert Lee off the William and Mary at University of Virginia college football game “because they were concerned that having an ASIAN FOOTBALL ANNOUNCER NAMED ROBERT LEE would be offensive to some viewers.”

It has to be satire … doesn’t it? Maybe not:
ESPN source on the Clay Travis/UVA game brouhaha: There was a sensitivity about Robert Lee, a young, new announcer doing the game…

Travis was right, then?
To avoid offending left wing idiots Robert Lee, the Asian college football announcer, not the Confederate General who died in 1870 and shares a name with him, was switched to the Youngstown State at Pittsburgh game and Dave Weekley will now call the William and Mary at University of Virginia game.
Unless someone tries to take down Dave Weekley statues between now and kickoff.
So just to clarify, Robert Lee, Asian play by play man, & Robert E. Lee, Confederate General, are different people: https://t.co/2Oz22i4Vpx

Oh my STUPID: They pulled Asian announcer Robert Lee because his named is too close 2 Confederate General Robert E. Lee to avoid "offending" https://t.co/8t498tTe5N

Few know, but this random Asian guy named Robert Lee was the same person who led the confederacy during the civil war https://t.co/ieoL3eHkzj

I mean, if his middle initial was "E," this might have made sense. But come ON!
