Blue Lives Matter is very much a thing, and police officers are observing National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Monday knowing that two of their own were killed in Orlando, Fla., earlier in the day.

Police believe Orlando Master Sgt. Debra Clayton, a wife and mother, was shot multiple times by Markeith Loyd, a man suspected of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend in December. CBS News reports that a second officer, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy First Class Norman Lewis, was killed on a motorcycle while pursuing Loyd in the second of two cars he hijacked in his getaway.
