Talking Points Memo editor and publisher Josh Marshall’s Friday night link to a Pornhub video is still up on Twitter for anyone who’s interested, but Twitchy readers will have to settle for a screenshot, sorry:
Why Marshall posted it in the first place is still up for discussion, however.
Wait why is Josh Marshall tweeting porn links now

Logs on, wonders why everyone is talking about Josh Marshall. Surprised he wasn't watching a porn parody of Sarah Palin.

So, it’s been awhile and @joshtpm still has that tweet up there. Hack or did I just miss the point?
— Karoli (@Karoli) December 31, 2016
Marshall suggests there was a point to posting porn, although that point was easy to miss; apparently he was attempting to make a political point and perhaps troll Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway. The porn link lost some meaning when divorced from Marshall’s preceding retweet of a Politico story … got it?

Unless something’s been deleted, the previous tweet was this, in which Conway and others criticize President Obama’s announcement of sanctions against Russia, which Conway alleges were politically motivated and meant to “box in” the incoming president.

So, is the video of Angela and Strawberry meant to symbolize Trump and “close associate” Putin or something? Gizmodo’s night editor attempted to find out from Marshall himself, who on Saturday afternoon shared his obtuse email response.
Got an email form Eve Peyser at Gizmodo asking about my tweet last night. Here's what I sent her. pic.twitter.com/SOTbta2cP6

Got it.
It's not that no one's watched it, it's just you're brand of commentary is not usually associated w/25 mins of cunnilingus.

Yeah, we’re getting the impression that Marshall’s tweet wasn’t particularly well thought-out. Or maybe it was, and his Pornhub selection was carefully curated for maximum symbolic impact. Or maybe he just forgot what was on his computer’s clipboard.

Probably because tweeting lesbian porn was among the least embarrassing mistakes @joshtpm made this year. @HumbleRando @PatriarchTree @Karol

He did it on purpose. Seems pretty obvious to me.

But if it was intentional and that was the point … is this what to expect from Talking Points Memo for the remainder of the Trump administration? Or only when the editor is posting under the influence?

SO excited to tell my grandkids I was there for the Josh Marshall porn tweet
— Brandon ? (@bnowalk) December 31, 2016
"where were you when Josh Marshall tweeted porn" is the JFK moment for me and my friends
— Brandy Jensen (@BrandyLJensen) December 31, 2016
Accidental post…can't claim hack…needs to pretend it's a clever joke.
— Mike Viper Metcalf (@viper_metcalf) December 31, 2016
lol there is absolutely NO WAY that @joshtpm's porn tweet was intentional. He'll try to make it look that way though. Hilarious!

Marshall's email will be very helpful going forward when TPM decides to attempt shame people out of business.
