For better or worse, it’s true: the cable news pundits just aren’t giving their audience any reaction to Tim Kaine whipping out that Mexican thing at Tuesday night’s #VPDebate.

TV doesn't mention whipping out the Mexican thing. Twitter alive with it. The great digital divide.

There’s an issue in there somewhere, and it’s the one with which Donald Trump gained the traction to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate by the public, if not the media.

It also was the issue that landed Trump in hot water, hardly for the last time. Mike Pence wasn’t caught off guard, though he did win the award for line of the night.

A hashtag? Lame. Leave that nonsense to the State Department, where it belongs. Just understand that whatever clever thing you’d planned on doing with “that Mexican thing” Wednesday morning has probably already been done.
