The fireworks started early this holiday weekend when Hillary Clinton spent her Saturday morning chatting with the FBI about the ongoing investigation into her private email server. She’s getting ready to hit the campaign trail tomorrow with President Obama in tow, but Donald Trump kept busy on Independence Day by meeting with Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst.

No fireworks were reported, but despite the timing, the meeting wasn’t some secret rendezvous held on a parked plane. Ernst released a statement saying that she and Donald had a good conversation about the best path forward for the country.

On Sunday, Trump had a “warm” meeting with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, who would have to drop his re-election bid to join Trump on the ticket.
