As Twitchy reported earlier today, Lena Dunham, star of the “era-defining HBO comedy” Girls, gave fair warning that she was chosen to run Hillary Clinton’s Instagram account today. Dunham is also serving as Clinton’s campaign surrogate in Iowa City today, drawing a respectable crowd to hear some remarkably over-the-top whining about the victimization of strong, independent woman Hillary Clinton.
All of this just one day after bringing Clinton “millennial cred” in New Hampshire, according to Time.

Dunham’s appearance in Iowa Saturday touched on many of the same logic-bending, millennial-friendly themes.

Lena Dunham on her outspoken feminism: "It's why my Twitter feed is littered with unspeakable violence."
— Dave Weigel (@daveweigel) January 9, 2016
Violence is not tweeted, @daveweigel . Lena is simply claiming victimization by words, while offending by words.

There’s plenty about Dunham that’s borderline unspeakable, but this is the first we’ve heard of a Twitter feed being unspeakably violent. What is it President Obama would say? “If Dunham can’t handle the trolls in her Twitter feed, then I don’t think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about it when Hillary names her Press Secretary.”
@daveweigel There's nothing worse than a cutting subtweet. Nothing worse than that happens to anyone else, ever.

But enough about Dunham. How about a word or two about Clinton, the reason Dunham was in Iowa City?
Dunham tears up a little after saying she's inspired by how Hillary overcomes sexism. "She has survived horrific gendered attacks."

@daveweigel
She's dished out way more attacks on women than she has ever endured.— Mike Williams (@soonerman_mike) January 9, 2016
But those women were bimbos, and likely part of a vast right-wing conspiracy to smear her husband.
