Did NorKs torpedo this ship Too?

Look for CNN to run a series of stories about how aliens, black holes, and zombies caused this ship to sink.

The ship is listing like the Andrea Doria but apparently, efforts are underway to save the majority, with officials telling them to jump in the water, which CNN reports, is around 55-degrees. CNN reports the survival time for humans floating in those kind of temperatures runs about two hours but I’m from Maine, where the temperature of the Atlantic this time of year is also around 55-degrees. If you’re a man, you might be able to survive two hours in 55-degree water alright but once you’re finally rescued, it will take you six to locate your penis. 😉

On a serious note, hope everyone escapes safely. Sure seems close to shore. Wonder if they hit shoal waters?

I’m from MN and swam out into Lake Superior in pursuit of an errant frisbee when I was a stupid teenager. I made it to the frisbee but barely made it back to shore. I don’t think most people realize how fast immersion in cold water can incapacitate the human body.

The ship looks like it sank completely, if it hit a shoal I would think parts of it would be exposed. I wonder if Kim-Il-Chia-Head is playing stupid games again.

I sure hope those reports of everyone being rescued are true. That’s the most important thing, of course.

That being said, those waters look pretty calm. Someone’s got some ‘splainin to do.

Whoever was running the rescue operation deserves major kudos. It’s extremely rare for a ship that big to go down without any losses. Or maybe there were a lot of extremely competent and well-trained fishermen, merchantmen, and recreational boaters in the area. It’s impressive either way.

4 dead. Not perfect, but certainly could’ve been a LOT worse.

And yes, definitely someone’s got some ‘splainin to do.

300 missing. Not good at all.

What’s Korean for “Were you in the boat when the boat tipped over?”

  • Right Wired ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

One tweet says “All passengers on capsized ferry rescued ”

The next says “4 dead and 300 people missing after ferry sinks off South”

    Huh?

    Prayers to all

Here’s what CNN is saying now:

“At one point, South Korean authorities said 386 passengers had been rescued and that 104 remain unaccounted for. But later Wednesday, they said they couldn’t provide exact numbers.

What is known is that at least two people — a woman and a student — were confirmed dead.”

Why is it that we can not longer trust initial reports anymore? Even this report is uncertain, but at least they admit it.
