Of course there were protesters outside of former Vice President Dick Cheney’s appearance at American University’s Kennedy Political Union Thursday night.

Cheney was reportedly heckled as well.

“Students walk out on Cheney!” the headlines read.

Curious….where are the stories of the majority who stayed?

Meanwhile, I take solace that these adorable minds of mush are on a college campus and not in uniform. Last time I checked, the decision to continually fund the war in Iraq was voted on each and every time by the junior senator from Illinois, the darling of these starry-eyed, naive protesters who think intelligence gathering is best done with warm milk and hot cookies.

    • Spiny Norman

It does make it sound like they all walked out.

      • Heather Atkinson

5 people walk out on VP Cheney = HUGE NEWS!!

No one bothers to show up to yet -another- interminable Obama speech = NOTHING TO SEE HERE!! MOVE ALONG!!

    • Jay Stevens

Obvious stagecraft. They knew Cheney was appearing. They could have just stayed away or protested outside. But no. They had to show up so they could be seen leaving.

      • Mary123s

Do you think Cheney cares? He’s seen worse, and he knows that a good chunk of these teens will be just like him when they grow up and deal with the real world, no longer riding on mom and dad’s $$$

    • camp50

Will they be walking out on Hillary who voted in favor of the “use of force” resolution on Iraq.

    • http://www.RichardRecuset.com/ Richard Recuset

      Well put Maxx!

  • krypt_o

I wonder if they would give Obama, Biden, or Hillary the same treatment? I wonder if they’re even aware more civilians and soldiers have died under their watch?

    • Mary123s

of course not, they are “their kind.” they would defend it the exact same way the Bush supporters did

    • pajamakat

They have no clue. But they know how to use a condom and that birth control is now FREE.

    • Orpheus75

Just like, up until the very day that Obama took office, you would see a DAILY body count on every news channel and front page paper. but as Soon as Obama got in…POOF! Gone, just like that. Not one body count since.

  • Brad Donald

Do this morons not know that there was a VOTE on if we should go to war or not. And that the vote was bipartisan using intel gathered mainly under Clinton?

    • Spiny Norman

Gathered during the Clinton administration? They were still in diapers, so it didn’t happen.

      • krypt_o

Those in charge of these terrorist organizations were still in diapers? Obviously you must have been.

You are aware that all during Clinton’s administration they were hunting Osama bin Laden, among others in his ring?

        • Spiny Norman

I was (sarcastically) referring to the students (as was Brad Donald, who I was responding to), and to the Millennials’ narcissistic tendency to dismiss anything before their own recollection as completely irrelevant (and didn’t happen, as far as they’re concerned). These college undergrads were fairly young children on 9/11, and yes, probably still in diapers during the Clinton administration.

Apparently, you’re the only one who read my comment the way you did.

    • DwellsInFire

And intel that was given to us by Democrat Colin Powell who convinced everybody to go to war. Funny how he is completely ignored by the liberals.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Unlike Obama when he put us into Libya without Congressional approval, the Democrats voted along with Republicans to send us to war in Iraq and Afghanistan. So if anyone who supported the war in Washington is a War criminal to libs, that means some of their Dem heroes are as well.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Not just A vote, but twice in 14 months prior to the 2003 invasion, President Bush went to Congress for support.

      • http://www.facebook.com/aemoreira81 aemoreira81

Except for Feingold, they were all afraid to vote no for fear of being seen as opposing battling terrorism.

What does one expect from college students who cannot name a current U.S. Senator?

    • Orpheus75

they don’t care. All they care about is what their masters tell them is truth.

  • lesterwink23

I’m sure those same students who walked out would’ve been just fine listening to Iran’s Hitler Jr. when he spoke at Columbia a few years back. The higher education system in America is beyond hope.

  • WhoDat

I expect them to do the same to Obama when he speaks there.

But, it’s interesting how these kids are viewed as dumb, but if someone walks out on someone like Dan Savage, they’re heroes. Let them all speak their minds.

    • Catchance

      Bless your heart.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

So it’s okay to label Cheney a war criminal, but not Hillary for Benghazi? And its’ wrong to walk out in a left-wing maniac like Dan Savage? Whose husband believes homophobia is okay as long as the gay person in question is Conservative?

      • WhoDat

I’m just calling out the hypocrisy of calling groups that speak their minds different things depending on your viewpoint.

Edited to add, did Clinton plan the Benghazi attack?

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Oh, you mean like you libs calling the Tea Party terrorists?

          • WhoDat

“You libs” You and that term.

“Just admit you’re a hypocrite and quit deflecting.”

That’s an awfully big rock you’re tossing around inside that glass house, skippy.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

The guy who spends half his time deflecting calling me a hypocrite? And I recall you once saying, “The Republicans deserve to be called terrorists because that’s how they acted during the shut down.”

My favorite deflection was when that Democrat was bullying a cancer patient who lost her insurance due to Obamacare, you called HER the liar and deflected from the overall issue, which was the Democrat bullying her and any stations that ran her ad.

          • WhoDat

You sure can remember stuff about me, huh? Disturbing.

Well, she wasn’t telling the entire story, and deserved to be called on it.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Yet you never once called out the Democrat for threatening television stations with threats of yanking their licenses, and ignored the entire point the lady made. And I remember you calling Republicans terrorists, because I’ve got a nifty little thing called SCREENCAP!

          • WhoDat

Ok, even more disturbing. Seek help.

To be fair, most of us here remember stuff you post because a lot of it is really comical in a sad, pathetic way.

However, in your own defense, you have said some really logical and coherent things lately and I actually thought you might be sick or someone had hacked your account.

          • tops116 ✓Quipper

“You sure can remember stuff about me, huh? Disturbing.”

            Try deflecting harder.

“Well, she wasn’t telling the entire story, and deserved to be called on it.”

Does that mean the next time there’s a story about yet another Obamacare lie, you won’t attempt some lame-ass deflection? Or do you prefer to pick on a cancer patient who–gasp–wasn’t happy with how Obamacare was screwing her over?

          • WhoDat

If I recall, her new insurance would be just like her old one as far as costs, and better in coverage, but she was pissed Obama lied to her.

          • Humanary Stew

She told the whole story. She lost her previous insurance by force. That is fact. The left simply wants to focus on the cost of the insurance. Then simply ignore the out of pocket costs and the costs of medications no longer covered. And ignore th lies that were told to sell the bill to people.

If you were consistent, you would be calling out every democrat because they never tell the whole story or outright lie consistently. Then again, you are consistently inconsistent.

        • mike_in_kosovo

          Did Cheney plan Iraq?

        • Corey Dennison

          No…but she was criminally negligent.

Weren’t you the one who accused those of criticizing Obama on his handling Russia as siding with Putin?

    • Well Done

      Huh?

    • mrspinky85

As someone who been to Iraq twice. I believe Dick Cheney and Bush don’t share the burden of this war alone. So, many people could have stopped it but didn’t. Ron Paul voted against it. This was a bipartisan mess. Clinton, Obama, Kerry and Biden and others don’t get to flip on this after many people have died or are forever changed by this war. And, when Obama didn’t end it when he said he would stung as the same year he took office we had to go. While I believe two wrongs don’t make a right more people are guilty in this situation.

    • tops116 ✓Quipper

As I recall, the last time Twitchy reported people walking out on Savage, it was when he was yelling at everyone in the room and accusing them of bullying. The kids who walked out on Cheney and insulted him are free to do so, but that’s a hell of a lot different from protesting some jackass heaping personal invective at the audience.

I bet when the guy who armed the people currently slaughtering Christians in Syria or the woman who let 4 men die in Benghazi and then blamed it on a Youtube video show up to speak these people won’t be using terms like “War Criminal.”

  • http://macsen573.wix.com/overdrive Macsen Overdrive

They do know that Obama is actually doing a lot worse than anything they accuse Cheney of, right?

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

They aren’t bright enough to realize that they cheer Obama for some of the same things they hate Cheney and Bush for. They call Cheney a war criminal, while they were dead silent on Obama putting troops in Libya and trying to put us in a war in Syria.

    • tops116 ✓Quipper

It irritates liberals to no end that years of investigations offered no proof that the Bush Administration lied about Iraq, but that it took only a few minutes for the Right to prove that Obama was lying his ass off about his “signature piece of legislation.”

  • Well Done

Apparently, the street-level activists have decided to pretend Bush and Cheney are war criminals. The little detail that they aren’t, and have never even been charged, doesn’t bother them. Especially puzzling is, the amount of noise these activists make about it despite Bush and Cheney being WAY, WAY down on any list of possible war criminals one might care to draw up. Going ‘way back, the left didn’t seem to give much thought to the fact that their buddy Stalin was more of a war criminal than Cheney could even be imagined.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

It’s odd how Cheney is a war criminal, but these are the same idiots who walk around wearing the face of a terrorist on their Che Guevara shirts.

It only goes to show how these young people were all brought up…with absolutely no respect. The problem today is the young don’t want to hear others opinions because they think they are always right. Yes, its free speech, but when people shout and curse because they don’t agree with the speaker, it really weakens their cause. If any of them were adult, they could have just listened and gone on their way. The American colleges today are way too liberal as are their professors.

So… Chaney’s a “war criminal” and “guilty of war crimes”, eh?

When was the trial? Who was counsel for the defense? How many witnesses were called? Was it a single judge, or a panel? Was this through the ICC? In five short years? I mean, their track record of speedy trials isn’t exactly stellar.

Vice Cheney is an internationally recognized criminal who killed millions and admits and is proud of sponsoring the torture. Good for those students for exercising their rights that Dick Cheney tried so hard to take away!

MRC just did a on campus poll at American University and only one out of 20 could name a US Senator and none could tell how many Senators each State had. One student said she was “not really into the America thing.” So from this we get scholars that know all about foreign policy? How much more ignorant do we need our youth? This is the result of the 60’s radicals taking over education and a mass infultration of our bureaucracies by fellow supporters, it is a grim reality that I’m not seeing combated well.

While redistributing wealth may temporarily equalize conditions, it does so by grinding the gears of progress to a torturous halt.
