Addressing an audience in Indonesia this week, Secretary of State John Kerry declared that climate change “ranks right up there” with other global concerns such as terrorism, poverty, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Yes, yes he did.

While many pointed out the hypocrisy of Kerry flying around the world to warn of the dangers of carbon emissions, Newt Gingrich wondered if Kerry is completely out of touch with reality.

Tell us how you really feel, Newt.

  • mickeyco

I’m second to none in my dislike and distrust of Kerry. (My brother was in ‘Nam.) But for crying out loud, does Newt really not know how to spell SoS’s name? Guess not, since it’s misspelled in all 4 tweets.

    • http://www.almarquardt.com/ almarquardt

      I noticed the same thing.

    • Republicanvet

      I noticed too…and really didn’t care.

      • http://www.almarquardt.com/ almarquardt

True. The misspellings don’t negate his point.

        • GoldsteinsBook

The misspellings don’t negate his point. Newt Gingrich negates his point. I’m not going to get into the climate change debate because no one is ever convinced. However, if you DO believe man-made climate change is real, then you accept that there will be many unnecessary deaths, loss of agricultural zones, destroyed coastal cities. In other words, if you believe that man-made climate change is real, you believe it will result in WMD-level damages.

Gingrich is calling for John Kerry’s resignation because Kerry made a point that has been made countless times before? Do you really think he is that upset about Kerry’s remarks? Personally, I suspect it has a lot to do with trying to get the conservative base to forget about his experimentation with anthropomorphic climate change.

A person can know that humans do affect climate. That does NOT mean that same person who rationally realizes that the mere existence of humans matters on this planet will believe that it’s on par with WMD’s.

That’s just plain ol’ fear-mongering BS.

          • Sig Ruman

You’re absolutely right. If… As for Gigrich [nice misspell – the Futon] one listens to him at their own peril.

          • http://www.almarquardt.com/ almarquardt

I had forgotten about that video. Thanks for pointing it out.

Still, regardless of Newt’s motives (and I’m not disagreeing with you on that point at all), I do agree with his assessment of Kerry.

          • Old Patriot

While you’re worrying about climate change (which for lefties means “global warming”, consider that the world is merely in an interglacial period — one that’s lasted about as long (if not longer) than the previous four or five. Consider how much destruction a mile-high glacier across Canada down to the US border would cause. Consider the drought an ice age creates below the glaciers. Consider the disaster of ocean levels DROPPING four to six hundred feet below current levels. Consider the starvation of half or more of the Earth’s population because there just isn’t anywhere to grow enough food to feed it. Then consider the FACT that solar output is plummeting, and the BEST we can hope for is more severe winters and cooler summers, such as the world experienced during the Maunder Minimum of 1600-1850.

Climate changes. It’s been changing for 4.5 billion years, and will always continue to change. The thing to worry about is how it’s changing, and what we can do to mitigate the effects. Also, a HUGE clue for you: it’s not being caused by burning fossil fuel. It’s that big yellow thing in the sky, plus some plain and simple orbital dynamics.

        • sickofthebs

Notice he didn’t capitalize kerrys name as well in the first two. Possibly out of disrespect, it’s like he can’t be bothered to capitalize or spell the POS kerry’s name and he really doesn’t care because that DB kerry isn’t worth the effort.

      • mickeyco

I don’t ever comment on “regular peoples'” misspellings, etc. The to/two/too and the their/there, etc. That’s just rude. But it’s a different animal when it’s, supposedly, a political leader who can’t spell the name of a Secretary of State and former presidential candidate.

        • Republicanvet

I see your point, but mine is that Kerrie is such a putz that I could care less if he is offended.

I’m no fan of Newt’s either, but in this instance…perhaps he secretly served in Irak.

          • Clete Torres

            Halp us Jon Carry.

          • Worship Dancer

            BUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    • Clete Torres

Could have been spelled SecOfState K-R-A-P and the only danger would be confusing him with Cankles Clinton.

    • http://www.GONINERS.com/ Kristine ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Yeah, that’s the thing that just kept popping out of those tweets. How could he not know? Or is it some intentional attempt at a snub?

Either way, just get it right, geez.

    • al hunt

      I thought it was spelled H-E-R-M-A-N M-U-N-S-T-E-R.

  • Republicanvet

Jawn eFing Cary is likely hoping for a job with alGore. What a couple of nitwits.

Of course, if Jawn wasn’t Gorebal Warmmongering, he would have to actually do SoS stuff, which means Preezy PENcilneck would also have to be involved, and he’s too busy signing EO’s.

  • http://www.almarquardt.com/ almarquardt

I didn’t watch the video (I just ate supper and wasn’t in the mood to hurl it into to my toilet). I did read parts of the transcript, and he mentioned more than once that saving the planet is going to require lots of spending.

At least he was honest in that it’s a lot about money. I don’t see it much different from the Catholic church during Martin Luther’s time (I recently saw the movie entitled “Luther” with Joseph Fiennes) where a person could pay to have their dead relatives released from purgatory.

“Give the government billions of dollars and we will save the planet on your behalf!”

It likely won’t have any effect, but gosh darn it, we’ll feel good about ourselves for making such large and necessary sacrifices (such as food, housing, jobs, etc., etc.)!

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Yes, isn’t it interesting that every solution to climate change is raising taxes.

      • E Quilibrate

There may be an ‘irony’ in there somewhere.

        • TomJB

There certainly is irony in Kerry comparing AGW critics to flat Earthers. Considering that the Earth was flat was “scientific consensus” and “settled science” for centuries.

    • Catchance

And if you point out the hypocrisy of algore’s using more energy in his home in Tennessee than anyone else, the climate change people are quick to point out that he buys carbon offsets. WTH? If they truly believe so strongly that it’s carbon emissions causing global cooling/warming/sharknados then paying money isn’t going to offset anything. Hypocritical AND stupid… a deadly combination.

  • http://truthbeagle.blogspot.com/ Plep’s Trumplimo

You’d think global warming would be good for the ketchup business. What’s his problem?

    • Conservative First

      lol

  • Hotlanta Mike
    • Karl Winrich

Record ice levels on the polar caps, near record amount of ice coverage on the great lakes….
How’s that “global warming” thing suppose to go again?

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Something about racism and George Bush. I don’t know, libs don’t make much sense

      • Catchance

That’s why they started using “climate change”. They may be stupid but they’re cunning.

        • Karl Winrich

Just like another one of their wonderful gaffs. They report of record amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere as recorded at a research facility located at Mauna Loa, which just happens to be an active volcano. Go figure high CO2 levels above a volcano? Nope, can’t happen, its all because of cars.

          • AMERICAN Kafir™✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

You know, that’s awfully similar to the ‘hole in the ozone layer’ scare back in the 80’s. I did a paper on it in school, and couldn’t figure back then out why they claimed worldwide use of aerosols and styrofoam caused it… yet it was centered over Antarctica… I still can’t figure it out to this day.

        • frozeninbemidji

Hopefully somebody puts together a video of these people and their sycophantic media using climate change all winter, and then switching to man made global warming during the summer.

  • Marvin Nelson

Lurch needs to go back to the Addams family mansion. He is totally living in his own little world.

  • CO2 Producer

This winter’s fossil fuel utility payments have become pretty unsustainable with this changing, warming climate, ya dip.

  • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Kerry and any other rich liberal who flies around in private jets should shut up. They are part of the problem, so they have no right to preach to anyone. That’s like a rapist preaching women’s rights.

  • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Seriously libs, how can you idiots not see through the ruse? All of this Global Warming, Climate Change talk from the left is just a smoke screen they are using as an excuse to force tax hikes. Nothing more. They don’t care about the environment, Kerry and Obama flying around in private jets is proof enough of that. So stop pretending that they give a damn, because they just want to raise taxes.

Thats the only real thing the Dems have said about solving the “Crisis.” They say, “Let’s raise taxes and do this thing here which is another tax, and let’s spend taxpayer dollars on a green energy project that’ll flop like Solyndra, which we’ll blame on Bush and the morons who vote Democrat will believe it, then we can tell the lemmings that we need to raise taxes again otherwise the sky is going to fall. Boy, oh boy, is it great to have such morons as supporters.”

And you libs line up and bend over and take it willingly. Although, tax hikes don’t matter to you leeches, none of you actually work for a living.

    • E Quilibrate

Add to that the fact that these ‘moron supporters’ pay no taxes.

  • Worship Dancer

Apparently Newt doesn’t understand that Jane Kareybeary lives in a unicorn world with fairy farts instead of the REAL world with cow farts.

  • DC is Evil

Kerry’s face looks like a thumb that someone decorated with a nose and two eyes.

  • Codewizard ∃Σ∪∝∞

Isn’t the ENTIRE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION making policy in a fantasy land? The media refuses to call them on their stupidity; so they know they can get away with idiotic comments. The question is: how long until their stupidity gets us killed.

  • SideshowJon36

Considering Kerry brokered a deal to allow Iran to get nukes, I think it’s safe to say he takes Climate Change more seriously than WMDs

  • Maryland_Malcontent

    Newt, I agree with you.

I just wish that you hadn’t been made to look as if you were living in a “fantasy land” during the Government Shutdown; I know that Leno shafted you by putting you next to that boorish, toxic witch Kathy Griffin but if you could have articulated the truth of the shutdown we could have made inroads. Ted Cruz spent a fair chunk of time on his time on The Tonight Show fighting against what Newt said when he was on the show.

  • therain

kerry, you need to resign, but I assume you’ll just be replaced with another worthless lib

  • E Quilibrate

Does botoxification make you stupid? No, guess not, he’s always been that way.

    • Steven Sweeney

Kerry has always been stupid..if he hadn’t married an heiress, he would have starved by now..His resume? Throwing medals away, handing nukes to terrorists…he should be flipping burgers with Herman Munster cheese..

  • AlmaAlma

I came across an old article on George Soros who I believe is probably the Drug Kingpin of the world and is big on money laundering. He invested quite heavily in Kerry when Kerry was trying out for Presidency. http://www.aim.org/special-report/the-hidden-soros-agenda-drugs-money-the-media-and-political-power/

  • ThisnThatNH

What does it say when the Sec of State — an official US Gov representative — clearly and emphatically says “Climate change is clearly — and unequivocally — the most fearsome weapon of mass destruction”? What kind of mental midget states this as a matter of US public policy, and then dismisses everybody and anybody that disagrees? Our Government is completely out of control, and this is just the latest example of it.

What do our enemies think of us, now?

  • coneil5150

JOHN F KERRY has the cognitive skills of a PEZ dispenser !
    BUT no CANDY

  • http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/ keyboard jockey

We have to look at this as glass half full. Barack Obama did us and Mass., all a favor appointing John F Kerry to the SOS position. When Obama’s term is over John F Kerry is finally out of holding any public office, and we don’t have to listen to his stale hyperbole anymore

  • Lindakl

Oh don’t worry, Obama put that stuff in his teleprompter.

  • Gregor Eisenstein

Meanwhile, at the flat-facer’s convention, John Kerry makes an ass of himself again.

  • Perry

I’m convinced libtards are going to have to be taken out by force. Their idiocy has no bounds.

  • Perry

I’m sick of these global warming scammers. It’s all about the MONEY! As in, they’re trying to separate YOU from your MONEY. Take the taxes off the table and they’ll shut their pieholes about this.

  • $84598387

IF CO2 is a WMD as this man states as fact, Kerry and his wife are CARBON TERRORISTS for spewing so damn much CO2 into the environment.

  • Exodus2011

    WISE UP John Kerry!

(we know you’re only pushing your climate BULLSCHMIDT because The Phoney and his evil gal pal val wanna continue trying to SCAM The American Public!)

  • David

The discussion over global warming is really pointless and purposely distracting. The real issue is that the earth’s atmosphere, rivers and oceans are not infinite bottomless pits for business to dump their industrial wastes in without any consequences. The real issue is that businesses don’t want to give up one cent of their profits to limit the amount of gunk they are allowed to put into the atmosphere, rivers and oceans. It is once again money over human health and life. I’m sure they can pay someone to come up with it, but I haven’t seen one study showing it does good things to pollute the air and water.

  • roger gibson

I betcha life is good right now in the developing world. The west is falling all over itself to hand over its wealth to them, while simultaneously turning itself into a third world garbage dump.
And climate change drives it all home.
    This is laughably embarrassing.

  • CasualMeyhem

So he found a working climate model? No?!?! A new and interesting lie at least? No Joy on that either?

  • Fido Shery

Where laws and regulations are used to restrict ways of doing things to those currently known, those restrictions prevent people from trying new ways of doing things and thus prevent innovation and technological advance.

  • seudoug

    HA! What a putz!

  • Oysteria

    Someone tell Newt it’s “Kerry”.
