Despite being a play on words, quite a few found the idea of a joke based on bipolar disorder out of line.
Tell @jackbox this isn't acceptable: http://t.co/uWDSZ4av3c It wouldn't be cool for them to make fun of other diseases, why bipolar?
— Natasha Tracy (@natasha_tracy) November 13, 2013
For real? This is awful. Have anything else to say about any other diseases? #cmgr RT @JackBox: Late night thoughts http://t.co/Do8zVjXnWd

That's in incredibly poor taste, like your food. “@JackBox: Late night thoughts… http://t.co/QHB5CH7msw”

Would you make cancer jokes? No? Then don't make mental illness jokes. RT @jackbox Late night thoughts… http://t.co/umcZFlCN5N”

So @JackBox just did something really offensive | Really Jack in the Box? A Bi-Polar Disorder Joke | trustmuse http://t.co/7aObl2Ybji

I wish @JackBox existed around here so I could picket it. Livid right now. When the fuck will people wake up and learn? #endthestigma

@JackBox take this down now. You're perpetuating a stigma that is crippling to people like me. Your tweet is as disgusting as your food.
— Peanut Gallery (@senseless_rage_) November 13, 2013
@JackBox Wow, could that be any more in poor taste? Good grief.

@JackBox Yikes. Not cool.
— William Batt (@wtbatt) November 13, 2013
Not everyone was offended, though.
@keithlaw @JackBox I'm bi-polar and that was funny. People are too sensitive.

[Update]
The tweet was quietly deleted with no mention that it ever appeared on the fast food chain’s feed. But Twitchy is forever!
