Maybe that’s not what he’s saying; not anymore, that is. As Twitchy reported earlier, Piers “Musket” Morgan, the nation’s undisputed authority on AR-15 shotguns, suddenly stopped throwing around the term once authorities confirmed that accused Washington Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis didn’t use an AR-15, but rather a shotgun and two stolen handguns.

A couple of Morgan’s tweets citing Aaron Alexis’ AR-15-that-wasn’t seem to have disappeared down the memory hole. Fortunately, Twitchy is forever.!/piersmorgan/status/379744807167340544!/piersmorgan/status/379749140734828545

This tweet is still live, though:

Any guesses how that one survived while the others vanished? A possible clue: the first “credits” Morgan’s employer, CNN, for breaking the news that Alexis did most if not all of the shooting with the AR-15. The AR-15 he wasn’t carrying.

The second tweet lives on through the power of retweets, like these particularly perceptive ones.

  • Bill_S

Sear Mr Morgan (and your kiss-butt followers) Someday you will give me a heart attack. That will, of course, be the day you get something RIGHT about guns.

    • Marcy Cook

So you are pretty safe. No chance in hell of having a heart attack.

    • Brian Englar

Judging from his abysmal ratings, those followers are few and far between.

  • TJCrane_NCC1701

Can anyone explain how an idiot with his head up his a$$ can stick his foot in his mouth ? Does that require surgery or can it be done by just using Industrial Strength Vasoline ?

    • GaryTheBrave

The imagery is giving me a headache. I saw a drawing of a person who did the cranial-anal insertion technique and now I’m trying to figure out how to fit the foot in there.

      • TJCrane_NCC1701

A keen sense of balance is a must !

    • cubanbob

Now that’s funny! For that amazing feat of dexterity Morgan should receive an Olympic gold medal.

      • TJCrane_NCC1701

        <—–Nobel Peace Prize maybe…..?

        • erehwon

          Just give pizza chants …

    • Jack Lee

I will have to second GaryThe Brave’s comment that the imagery is giving me a headache. On the bright side you gave you me a good Laugh TJ.

      • TJCrane_NCC1701

I’ll be here at the Re-Education Camp all week, Thursdays are $1 Domestic beers, and don’t forget to tip your waitress.

  • ObamaFail

Prediction: Democrats will celebrate this shooting by using it as a political tool to attack the 2nd Amendment.
Oh look! My prediction came true!

    • TJCrane_NCC1701

One trick pony. In this case, one trick jacka$$ !

This Navy yard madman’s attack with a shotgun that turned much more deadly when he acquired better weapons from guards raises an issue I’ve been harping on since we started putting expensive armed guards in schools after the Sandy Hook tragedy.

There is little chance such a solitary uniformed guard can protect himself against a shooter who surprises him — shotgun, revolver, derringer, or perhaps even a knife. A madman can simply walk up to such a guard with a question, and then get the drop on him.

But once the guard is neutralized, the guard’s WEAPON becomes the attacker’s weapon — usually a 9mm with a 15-19 round magazine — and one or two loaded mags to boot. Bad idea.

Instead of such easily-identified guards in schools, allow qualified/approved teachers and school staff to discretely arm themselves with handguns, without publicizing who is packing. Then such an attacker knows not who is packing, and who isn’t. This uncertainty likely precludes such a “gun free” zone attack.

Think this idea is outlandish? Not in Utah. Teachers have been able to pack heat for over a dozen years. No shootings, no accidents, no problems.

    • JeffWRidge

I’m with you 100% on that. Great idea.

    • Anonymous75439

They do now at my alma mater in Texas.

    • Maxwell

I love this idea. Considering that most teacher are liberals, I doubt they would know which end is the “bad end.”

      • trixiewoobeans

Would that be the “boom-stick” part?

        • Dustin Shadle

boom stick? they thought you said “broom stick”! it sounds much safer to liberals…

        • Dustin Shadle

boom stick? they thought you said “broom stick”! it sounds much safer to liberals…

      • liberalssuck

Not as true as you would think. Colorado has had a spike in teachers getting carry permits.

        • breathethroughyournose

well, that’s cuz , you know, all them potheads are going to go crazy with guns in colo now…

          • Luke_Cage1225

I hope yr being sarcastic and not just ignorant. Claiming people who are intelligent enough to use something natural like cannabis for medicine or for whatever reason they want are “potheads” is the same as calling gun owners “murderers”.

          • liberalssuck

Now remember it is not the person but the gun, so the gun gets a contact high and welds the human to go on a murder spree, lol!!

      • Zabilde

But 40% of registered Democrats admit to owning guns and oppose more restrictions. It’s not entirely a liberal thing, It’s an extreme left wing liberal thing. And In Utah at least many of those liberal teachers are still armed at school every day.

    • Robert M. Finklea

You touched on something that my father and grandfather taught me when I was younger. The Cooper Color Code, the men he shot first didn’t have a chance which hurts. Which using Jeff Coopers ideas would lend one to understand why having an armed teacher(s) would be a very good thing.

For those curious cooper color code is a mental checklist to categorize you mental and physical readiness in the event of being attacked.
      White,yellow,orange,red(black marines only).
I highly suggest reading it, even more so if you conceal carry. It will help you more than you might think.

    • Slugglife

Yeah. I’m with you. same reason I discourage open carry. No one knows you have a gun when you carry concealed.

I prefer the sexy librarian with the thigh holster.

      • erehwon

Remember Lynne Russell? CNN Newsreader for years, over six feet tall, red hair, generously busty with a thigh holser she showed Letterman or Leno or some such. Also has high ranking belts in some Aikido based martial arts, and was a special deputy with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Dept in Atlanta, GA.

Definitely a woman after my own heart. Now she makes and sells lampshades for a living.

    • DB1954

Maybe one or more guards AND one or more teachers?

      • Richard Rider

Overkill, so to speak. With some teachers armed, no guards needed. Certainly not in elementary and middle schools. Money for guards doesn’t grow on trees — and fortunately school mass shootings are rare to start with (with NO protection whatsoever).

Moreover, potential shooters know which guards to kill and take weapons from. Teachers and staff offer no such certainty.

        • DB1954

In my state we already have security guards in all public schools in addition to one full time police officer in every school. Most of them are ex-military. IMO, they’re worth every penny, and I’d trust them to carry and/or use firearms, much more so than teachers. By the way, they don’t wear uniforms, and the kids, believe me, not only love them, there’s absolutely no possibility any of those kids would even consider trying to kill one of them. The kids would be scared witless to try. Having said all that, I personally hold out no hope whatsoever for public schools in any shape or form. They’re nothing but leftwing indoctrination centers, even here in my state, which wasn’t at all the case just a few years ago. If you think that I’m exaggerating, you probably haven’t been in a public school lately. I was shocked to my core, not by what students are doing, but what teachers are teaching, who the teachers are, who the administrators are and a number of other matters. I wouldn’t let my kid within a stone’s throw distance of a public school today.

    • George

Are you kidding? This is why America has problems.

  • $1804328

Lets all pitch in and buy Piers Morgan an AR-15

    • tops116

Better yet, a one-way plane ticket.

      • Karl Winrich

        I’ll drink to that :)

      • WhoMeToo

Hell…. I’ll pay for his ticket myself, as long as ya’ll hog-tie him and get him to the plane. >:^D

        • therantinggeek

          I’ll bring the rope.

      • Canadian in USA

I think we’d end up pooling enough funds to fly him home first class. Not that he deserves it – you’d just get that much money.

        • Zabilde

We’d probably pool enough money to buy him his own private 747 full of AR-15’s.

    • Justin Levesque

It’d be a waste of money. Did you see the segment he did with Ted Nugent? Uncle Ted too Morgan to a range, and they fire AR-15’s. I swear, Morgan looked terrified and close to peeing himself.

    • Slugglife

      Nah. I’ll keep my money.

    • Slugglife

Id rather buy him an ass kicking

  • TocksNedlog

Remind me: Do British twits douche on the right, or the left?

    • Roto

He’s an ambidextrous “wanker” in his dialect :-)

  • HolyFreakingCrap

I had to turn off CNN last night when his show came on cause he was blaming the whole shooting on the AR-15, not the officially documented by police mental nut job who was hearing voices and still allowed to buy a gun.

LOL now CNN is talking bad about “buck shot”. I cant wait to see if Piers calls for a ban.

    • Karl Winrich

That’s typical liberal media, let’s blame the inanimate object and not the person pulling the trigger.

      • Chrissy the Hyphenated

Unless it’s a Muslim with a bomb, in which case we blame the victims.

      • Slugglife

No democrat shall be blamed for their actions.

    • NXXII

Why were you even watching CNN?

      • Jeremy

I have watched Musket’s show briefly for some good unintentional laughs.

Utter slimebag. I’ll vote for any presidential candidate that promises to deport this scum bucket.

  • jerry148

    Egg, meet face.

  • Jeremy

send Musket to Syria. He can complain about gun control there.

    • Stephen L. Hall

But Syria has strict gun control laws . . . just no actual control.

While the People at Colt Firearms Marketing appreciates Peirs Morgan’s reverse endorsement that helps us to sell even more of our Colt AR-15 .. We believe that It is inappropriate at this time. your check is in the mail.

Facts, reality, common sense….these things are anathema to Piers.

  • breathethroughyournose

the msm is a shameless group of lying losers. morgan is just the current loudest idiot.

  • DucatiRider

Piers Morgan knows nothing about guns and nothing about America. Why Americans even bother to listen to him is alarming.

    • Kimber TLE

Amazing, don’t you think? Governments around the world spend trillions of dollars to spy on people, organizations, companies and other governments.

Why would anyone want to spend nothing to learn about their enemy? I mean… follow them on Twitter with a click of a button, watch them on cable? As Cliff would have said, “What’s up with that?

Hence the saying: If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

      — Sun Tzu, The Art of War.

    • richard40

Actually most americans are not listening to him at CNN, his ratings are pretty low. I suspect many of the viewers he gets are conservatives recording him so they can catch him in another rediculous statement, which they can then redicule, kind of like Chris Mathews, who gets more viewers on Fox than he does on MSNBC. The only show where Piers Morgan ever had good ratings was when he was a judge on Americas Got Talent, and most of the fans of that show were glad to see him leave. I thought he was a decent judge on how he rated the acts, but was often a self important pompous twit as well. I am glad Howard Stern replaced him. I was afraid at first that Stern would not take his judging responsibilities seriously, but he turned out to be the best judge on the show.

      • seeingeye

I watch the idiot Morgan on Youtube for a laugh. Can’t stomach CNN any more.

  • Tony

    news fail

  • Slugglife

When will Piers go ape sht about obama supplying syrians with ar-15’s?

  • Donald McKenna

Dear Piers, please learn the difference between an AR rifle platform and a shotgun, you limey moosetwit… Oh yeah, why the f*** are you still here? Thought you said you were leaving? Wanker.

  • Buzz Buzinski

This is one person that doesn’t deserve a show of any type. He should leave this place and go back home. He is truly a complete idiot
