From WISN:
Election officials are throwing away every single ballot printed for Milwaukee County.
According to Milwaukee County Election Commission Manager Lisa Weiner, the Menomonee Falls-based printer Burton & Meyer printed the nearly 450,000 ballots after winning the bid. However, tests done on the ballots showed they didn’t work because the specs used were for newer-model optical scanners than those used in Milwaukee County.
Weiner said the problem lies in the placement of the arrows that voters fill in to cast a vote on Election Day.
“I’m not pointing fingers. They tried very hard with the resources they had, and it just didn’t work out,” Weiner said.
